I'm not against showing something pretty morbidly intense in a kid's movie (Tarzan has its antagonist literally hang himself by accident on the vines), I just wish it was in a way better film and not made by someone who clearly gets off on hurting women like the troglodyte spiritual groyper xe is.

Now I don’t blame kids for liking him. For all they know he is just the cool silly cartoon rabbit. And to be fair to everyone else, most of his fans wanted him to be a bad boy that’s nice underneath. Even Pomni almost reached him. It might had been a decent arch. But he decided to die/abstract as an asshole.
One of the things that is almost certainly one of the not mentioned inspirations has haunted a corner of my brain for ages. Noosework's stuff always reminded me the CGI effects and other weirdness in the "It's Itsy Bitsy Time" openings, even before digital circus was a thing. His youtube videos are often based on TV shows, with a presenter of sorts, often a wacky kid's show or gameshow something. I'd almost think it's the most direct inspiration for the style, given than digital circus has that late 90's early 00's CGI look, and the placement of the tent on hills with the blue sky behind it, ringmaster presenting it... I don't know, I'd say it fits a bit too well to not be an inspiration. As far as I can recall though it was part of some not very popular block of shorts or something, so perhaps it's a bit niche?
Tranny Jax theory in the way all the tumblrinas envisioned might be dead but I can already imagine them saying he's "plural"/has DID because of the mind palace scene, even though representing the different facets of your personality as seperate people in a mind palace has been a trope for eons and is Not How Any Of That Works.

i'm rewatching episode 8 and it's got me thinking, if they're gonna put this in theaters they should put an intermission (not like the shit one from episode 5) and entr'acte before the new footage starts, like it's a mad mad mad mad world or older movies like that. also i hate watching this show it visually makes me grimace when i'm looking at it
My own viewing was helped tremendously by watching 80% of the show with my phone on mute while obscenely sleep deprived. I can't imagine watching it on a larger screen.

To be honest, I liked Jax due to his personality (at least at the start of the series) not just being "I have anxiety and I'm awkward" type shit. I think he did the asshole character well and was the only one aside from Kinger that brought some life to the show. He wasn't constantly complaining and whining about his situation and made the most of it considering the only consequence he had to worry about was going insane from boredom and becoming permanently disfigured as a result.
