This is the usual unimaginative nonsense Americans engage in when they don't have a point. I live in a lovely part of the country, and every interaction I have with people is nice, and there is lovely countryside all around me.
As predicted, EV evangelists won't actually engage sensibly with any of the points made to them. They instead suggest you reorganise your entire life around charging the EV.
Lol
Reorganize life?
- Wake up. Get cleaned up for day. Unplug car. Car drives you somewhere by itself on full “tank”. Repeat every day.
- Far less maintenance visits to dealers or shops.
- Most of the limited service is done by mobile techs in my driveway or work parking garage or OTA.
Yeah it didn’t reorganize my life, but it’s very convenient.
The 200A panel install was necessary regardless for my new minisplits and hot tub anyways, and used it as an opportunity to get the lockout panel and exterior plug for the giant backup generator and the outlets outside additional patio lighting, outdoor AV and low voltage lighting for the gardens.
So yeah, the EV has been a net positive and costs me nothing to run.
I still have a 16mpg gas guzzler that is huge and extremely comfy, but it’s already annoying having to maintain brakes, brake fluid, tranny fluid, oil changes, coolant, filters, diff fluid, body grease points, tire rotations, alignments, air suspension, etc plus the $100 fill ups. I don’t want to have to do that for two cars. No way. I was a hair away from buying a new Toyota crown platinum recently. But I just can’t bring myself to have to make all of those dealer visits for two cars. I’ve been eyeballing the X5 e40i more and more. That fucker really speaks to me, but I don’t think I can bring myself to drop $90k on a well optioned one.
Imagine bragging about some power outlet instead of bombing with a 7.3 litre Cummins Power Stroke.
Well… you probably aren’t allowed to have one of those either in bongland or wherever , I’d be more concerned about being beheaded than waging a personal war on EV owners 6000 miles away
