Teenagers mock disabled man as he drowns

A group of teens who recorded and mocked a disabled man as he drowned in Florida last week have been formally charged for their role in his death, authorities said on Friday.

The charges against the five teenagers who recorded and made fun of Jamel Dunn, 31, as he drowned in a pond on July 7, were not detailed in a press conference, News 13 reported.

But Cocoa Police Chief Michael Cantaloupe said there's no law requiring people to report to officials that someone is dying. After someone has died, however, people are required to contact authorities, he said.

Police are currently in the process of filing paperwork to the state’s attorney’s office, Cantaloupe said.

TEENS FILMED, LAUGHED WHILE MAN SLOWLY DROWNED, AUTHORITIES SAY

In the video, Dunn could be seen struggling to stay above the water in a Cocoa pond as the teens, who are between the ages of 14 and 16, watched, laughed and mocked him.

"Ain't nobody going to help you, you dumb *****; you shouldn't have got in there," one of the teens can be heard saying in the video.

Dunn later drowned.

The names of the teenagers involved in the incident were not released to the public.

Police initially said that the teens were unlikely to face any charges since they weren’t directly involved in Dunn’s death.

I'll be honest, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to help someone who was drowning, but filming it to make some kind of low rent snuff film is pretty fucked.

I just watched the one video out there, they sound Floridian but its hard to tell if its white trash or dindus. Either way it doesn't matter because they still committed a crime by 1) not contacting 911 to save the man 2) keeping quiet about the incident.

Not reporting a dying person wasn't against the law, but not reporting the dead body was. That's so Florida
 
The kids were a bunch of cunts, but everything worked out for the best really.

If they called 911 then the cops would have had to risk their lives trying to save this fucked up spastic. If the cops had managed to save the idiot, the hospital bills would have been ridiculously expensive and that dumb fucker would never have been paying them.

Because they put the video online, the idiots family managed to raise money to pay for the funeral and help them out.

TBH the situation turned out better because they are utter cunts than it would if they were boy scouts and called 911.

If they called 911 then the cops would have had to risk their lives trying to save this fucked up spastic. If the cops had managed to save the idiot, the hospital bills would have been ridiculously expensive and that dumb fucker would never have been paying them.

He would arrive on the scene at exactly the right moment—four minutes past ten, the long-ago appointed instant of time—and the water would be shoal, the achievement easy and certain. “Oh, Satan! Oh, dear Satan!” I cried, with the tears rising in my eyes, “save them! Don’t let it happen. I can’t bear to lose Nikolaus, he is my loving playmate and friend; and think of Lisa’s poor mother!”

Shall I change his life back?”

“Oh no! Oh, not for the world! In charity and pity leave it as it is.”

“It is best so. I could not have changed any other link in his life and done him so good a service. He had a billion possible careers, but not one of them was worth living; they were charged full with miseries and disasters. But for my intervention he would do his brave deed twelve days from now—a deed begun and ended in six minutes—and get for all reward those forty-six years of sorrow and suffering I told you of. It is one of the cases I was thinking of awhile ago when I said that sometimes an act which brings the actor an hour’s happiness and self-satisfaction is paid for—or punished—by years of suffering.”

I wondered what poor little Lisa’s early death would save her from. He answered the thought:

“From ten years of pain and slow recovery from an accident, and then from nineteen years’ pollution, shame, depravity, crime, ending with death at the hands of the executioner. Twelve days hence she will die; her mother would save her life if she could. Am I not kinder than her mother?”

“Yes—oh, indeed yes; and wiser.”

In the South, there's very little difference between white trash and bixnoods. But yet, they don't get along.
 
They sound black and the commentary is pretty funny. Mean but funny. Especially mean when they yell that he's dumb for getting in there. To be fair though, they do seem to be in shock and/or denial that they're really witnessing a drowning before their eyes.
 
Had to do a double take cause I misread it as transgenders instead of teenagers.

That and unless you have some actual lifeguard training in rescue trying to save someone from drowning is a good way to wind up drowning yourself.

Not only the hospital bills, but he would have continued to get arrested and keep up the cycle of being put in jail for the rest of his life, save a few years he's released every decade.

He's just your average gangbanger getting in and out of jail every 3 years, continuing to commit crimes like robbery and assault until he gets put away again for a few more years.

Oh, but because he's the victim of laughter, suddenly his classification is "disabled." Do you think the news printed the headlines as "police arrest disabled man for assault on an EMT, fleeing police, hit and run and driving with a suspended license?" Or did the news say "once again career criminal Jamal Tyrone was arrested again after only 2 years out of jail on more assaulting and fleeing police charges."

I can't believe they call this guy "disabled" in the headline, I guess black kids cheering at a black career criminal drowning doesn't get as many clicks on youtube.

His latest arrest date (for the crimes I mentioned above and a few more) was in 2012, where his original release date was October 13, 2017. They let him out early as a favor so he would do great ideas like this.

Very interesting too, this website lists his bookings from oldest to newest, so when you scroll down the page, you see him getting more and more face-tatted after each booking.

The story they were selling is the terrible story of a man dying while teens laughed.

If they'd shown his later mugshot with his face full of tats and his full criminal record then everyone would be laughing along with the teens.
