I wonder if any of these fundies with zombabies choose to carry to term because they know they'll get a shitton of attention for it and will get to show everyone how awesome and godly they are. I'm sure most genuinely believe aborting even a brainless fetus is wrong, but I can't help but wonder if at least a few know it's an easy way to get attention and deliberately play into that. Kinda like what Jaxon's parents allegedly did.

Also zombabies aren't the committment that regular kids are since they die shortly after birth (if they're born live at all), so it's a win win for a sociopathic muchie/attention seeker type.

This disturbing story is about a doctor who at some long ago time encountered one of these babies.

The hospital had lied to the parents and claimed it was stillborn to save them from knowing about the monster, but it lived several days afterwards. It's a fairly disturbing story and the doctor, then an intern, had seriously considered just killing it. It's full of fairly shocking breaches of medical ethics.

That was one of the most sobering articles I have ever read. Thank you for sharing that.

I don’t know shit about China but in the US, domestic adoption through an agency is still super expensive. Adopting through foster care obviously doesn’t have that huge price tag, but the point of foster care is to get kids back to their bio family if possible so there’s a good chance a kid you’re fostering will be returned to their parents after a while. Kids who are wards of the state already tend to be older...can’t get a cute toddler that way!

tbh I’m surprised China still lets Americans adopt Chinese kids, I thought they stopped doing that.
It’s much easier to adopt a disabled child from overseas. A lot of these countries have very little supports for disabled children, and it’s different from having lots and lots of healthy babies that could grow up to be productive workers sent elsewhere.

There was an article, maybe linked in this thread??, from a doctor writing about his first year of practice at a hospital in the late 1950’s. He described a cyclops baby being born at the Catholic hospital he worked at and it lived a few days.

They basically just left it in a bassinet to die and even the nuns had difficulty tending to it and in fact did not. The deformities it was born with left it unable to nurse/feed and there certainly wasn’t the technology to try rectify that issue. It was basically left to die of dehydration.

The fact with absolutely no aid was given and it lived a few days is remarkable. Makes me think with today’s technology it might have lived weeks or months. But it’s rare for such babies to survive birth or even live beyond a few hours after birth.

As awful as the idea of a newborn slowing dying of dehydration is, unnaturally extending their life is far more cruel.

I hate it too. Girls are made to feel like dolls and the idea that physical presentation is their most important attribute they possess is reinforced. It’s a sure recipe for unhappiness and disaster even if they happen to be exceptionally beautiful.

The albino Chinese children will not be cute moppets as adults. The boy particularly will suffer. Regardless of what their mother spews she has reinforced the idea to the albino kids that their value comes from their unique physical appearance- it will make them miserable as teens and adults.
Pro life people being pro brainless baby is new.

I am sorry if this ever got mentioned, there are 200 pages. Early in this thread there was a mention of mercy killing or letting the kids die. And I feel like the case of Robert Latimer is always a good look at this. Besides being physically and developmentally delayed, they were looking at surgeries for the daughter that were both painful, had a long recovery time, and really were not going to do much.

So when looking at the moral and ethical dilemma of these kids and keeping kids alive and the qol. This is a case I have seen mentioned across the board.

Another issue is what happens when the parents get sick or they die. And this is talk for just people who have developmentally delayed adults. You have to plan for that, But there is these people who need around the clock care. Most people are not cut out for this.

I feel like offering only palliative care for completely hopeless cases like anencephaly or whatever Alfie Evans had is the way to go, but active euthanasia especially of kids that are more disabled than terminally ill is at best some pretty shady territory.

A lot of the people who murder their disabled kids actually had plenty of support despite claims to the contrary, they're just Karens that hated getting stuck with a disabled kid instead of a perfect non-disabled kid like they felt entitled to. A lot of the more infamous cases were middle class and higher families, not working class or poor families where they really were lacking in support.

Idk I'm pretty cautious about getting into territory where disabled kids/adults are treated more as burdens instead of people. Even if it doesn't lead to shit as extreme as murder, you see that mentality used to excuse a lot of abuse including and often especially by social workers and whatnot ("dealing with a disabled kids is just so hard, so of course it's understandable that their parent would snap and scream at them every night!").

I've powerleveled a lot in this thread oop

That is why this case was a big deal and used heavily in ethics classes. But if you read the case, she was not well and the lead up to this was so much it was never about the other kids. It was about her and her alone, she got very depressed and the doctors kept pushing more surgeries and her qol was only getting worse. There is a lot to it. It is a very sad case.
here is a bit more on her condition.

excuse a lot of abuse including and often especially by social workers and whatnot ("dealing with a disabled kids is just so hard, so of course it's understandable that their parent would snap and scream at them every night!").

This happens in schools, this happens in assisted living facilities. This happens everywhere you have someone who can not advocate for themself. Which is why institutions being closed was such a huge thing, they fucked those kids up. the stories from people who were with kids or shared space with institutionalized kids, they were basically feral.
The abuse that happens in schools is bad.

To avoid power leveling much; you have families who have to make a lot of decisions around the child, which is not bad, but stressful because you have early plans made and do not know when the level of care might change. Which makes these people who keep their kid alive {these children with no brain, or just, they need so much support like suctioning spit?} for clout or whatever reason so frustrating.

This is how I see it, how many people want to be on life support or in a coma? It is so taxing on a body and so few people want that, it is always the family. But to willingly draw that out in children, the only good thing is that they do not have enough brainpower to feel anything.

Yeah the stuff that went down (and continues to go down) at institutions is horrific. You even have shit today like the Judge Rottenberg Center shocking kids. My only guess as to how that place is still allowed to exist is the people that want it have enough power and money to keep it running. And yeah, I've seen abuse go down or be ignored at schools (at least alternative schools) firsthand. A lot of people don't realize this stuff is a problem or how bad it is.

Even the mommy bloggers that make a big show about how much they supposedly love their kids, a lot definitely have this uneasy vibe that there's some shady shit going on. At the very least the treat their kids as objects to get social media clout instead of people.

I guess the zombabies really are the lucky ones compared to other kids covered in this thread (Tinslee:cryblood:) because they are never sentient or aware or anything or capable of feeling any pain or trauma. They're basically corpses like Jahi, and even if they weren't they don't usually stick around for very long.

On a less serious note, I wonder what would happen if you poked the exposed brainstem of a zombaby? Or applied a weak electrical current to it? I wonder if it would make it move like a dead frog or some shit.

Middle class families might receive less support in some cases if they don't qualify for government assistance, which in the US will basically cover everything. More importantly, I don't think it's fair to term someone a 'lazy Karen' because they don't want to spend every waking moment changing diapers/cleaning bedsores/arranging medical care for a child who may or may not ever have achieved consciousness.

Clearly murder isn't ok. (Brave and stunning, I know.) But people who've worked with even higher functioning disabled kids understand how these parents can snap. There are whole charities that provide respite for special needs parents because all too often their lives are a steady drip of soul grinding stress without thanks or the emotional rewards that come from parenting a typical kid. People snap under less.

I was what could be classified as a higher functioning disabled kid. Abuser absolutely played the "raising a disabled kid is just so hard and stressful!" card and it worked like a charm every time. Have talked to other disabled people that went through the same thing.

Pretty sure no doctor is saying that zombabies can't shit or move (reflexively) or do any of the other involuntary shit controlled by the brainstem. Them being unable to hear, see, or feel anything is fact though because they lack the part of the brain needed for it. If they had those parts of the brain, they wouldn't be diagnosed with anencephaly.

Families should indeed be given fact based information... which is what they'll get from a doctor, not some fundie's FB page.

That's true too. I'm kinda biased I think because most of my experiences are specifically with classrooms and alternative school for kids with behavior issues and for the most part those kids came from situations that were varying degrees of fucked up (lotta foster kids for example, especially at alternative schools).

Yeah I have no experience with sped teachers for deaf/blind kids or at private schools. All my experience is with public school ones. And yeah, at alternative schools especially the "teachers" really are just glorified babysitters (alternative schools are just daycare for problem kids, and it sucks because there are plenty of kids there capable of learning stuff but the aren't really given any instruction beyond being told to read sections of textbook and do the questions afterwards).

I think about half or more of the kids at the alternative schools I was at were foster kids, including the tards. A few did seem to have families that cared about them though (like this one guy, huge guy, mostly non-verbal, but 99% of the time he was sweet as could be. When he did act up though it was scary because he was huge, but thankfully it only happened maybe once or twice when I was there. He parents and grandparents came to the school a lot and clearly loved him deeply).

Oh yeah, I remember meeting a couple kids who were adopted from Russia and other countries with fetal alcohol and other shit. Definitely don't envy them, even with loving parents spending the first couple years of your life in an orphanage in a developing country probably traumatizes and fucks you up for life.
This is all fair. I kinda feel like when it comes to these sort of cases bias is kinda inevitable because the subject as a whole is so complicated that it’s almost impossible for one person to cover every facet- especially when you have personal experience. I know I tend to give a lot of sympathy to the non-disabled siblings who get cast aside because an alarming number of parents and professionals who act like the non-disabled kids don’t need actual parenting or guidance anymore for precisely this reason.

Although I’m always hesitant to treat sped meltdowns and the behavioral issues caused by abuse like they should be put in the same category, since in my experience there’s a huge difference in how lashing out due to a lack of alternative healthy outlets and an intellectually disabled but cared for adult having the emotional capacity of a toddler and therefore not understanding that throwing yourself on the floor to go "I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT" isn’t an acceptable response play out. The former do often get mistaken for the latter, and the latter sadly aren’t safe from being abused or written off by programs meant to help them, but sperg tantrums are still pose a lot of problems and stress on their own even without outside factors.

Though I also really hate the #actuallyautistic slactivist fuckers who only ever bring up the abuse cases in care programs and schools just to REEEE at some piece media that has disabled kids in it and so much as suggests that other members of the family might also have problems related to the disability like medical bills or being unprepared for certain challenges unique to that disability or just general stress. Like where the fuck were you when these cases were actually happening?

The #actuallyautistic tag on any given social media site tends to be dominated by "self diagnosed" (read: not really autistic) tumblr kids whining about non-issues like other autists saying the word retard or not treating self diagnosis as exactly the same as, if not superior to, a doctor diagnosis.

I think the worst though are the FB groups where they ban anyone saying anything remotely bad about people with NPD or ASPD, because saying narcissists are abusive is apparently "ableist" and the exact same thing as someone saying autists are subhumans and should be exterminated. It's pretty fucked up and I 100% think it's a result of narcissists trying to manipulate and abuse autists because they see them as easy targets (along with SJW retardation).

There are sadly few autism-related places on the internet that aren't complete cancer. Either you have Autism Warrior Mom(tm) circlejerks where Karens openly talk about doing questionable or straight up abusive shit to their kids (and pitch giant hissy fits and block anyone that doesn't kiss their asses including and especially autistic people), or you have self diagnosed SJW hellholes where you can't say words like crazy or lame or suggest people with mental illnesses that have being abusive as part of the diagnostic criteria are, in fact, abusive.

It's all so tiring*sigh*

THERE'S SO MUCH MISINFORMATION WHEN YOUR BABY IS BORN WITHOUT A BRAIN.

:story:

Motherfucker it doesn't matter if it can suckle or react to its environment or whatever. IT. IS. BRAINLESS.

Let it go in peace.

Gotta love how she says her little potato’s nursing in a way that’s totally natural and just like a real baby when that positioning is already so unnatural and staged - like even if her little lizard stem has enough power to turn on the suckling, she’d never have the presence of mind to do so unprompted.

Also gotta love the strategically placed diaper hat to cover up the fact that the base of her skull is so obviously concaved.

I found a brainless baby foundation that might be a little sus. It's not as openly shady as the overtly pro-life orgs or Jaxon's parents grift, but some things seem slightly questionable.

The story of the brainless baby it was founded for

Thinking speds are the exact same thing as something that literally doesn't have a brain. Sounds about right.

Anyway they do seem to do legit things like provide care packages to families and participate in research, but it might be worth poking into just how much of the money goes to that shit vs. how much they pocket especially in light of grifts like what Jaxon's parents did.

Once disabled children (especially the profoundly disabled) get bigger than their caregivers and the caregivers get older & weaker, it can be an extreme burden, as well as a danger, especially if the disabled person is mobile & can be violent. That's why a lot of older disabled adults end up in group homes/care facilities. I don't ever think murder of a person with that sort of disability (whatever it may be) is justified, but I can understand coming to the end of your rope as a parent. I know kids in 6-8th grade in a non-dipolma bound program who are over 5.5 feet tall, well over 140 pounds and can become violent and/or a flight risk. I can't imagine having to deal with a child like that when they're 20, 30, 40, etc., especially as I myself get older. These are children that will never be able to 'leave the nest', you're caring for them like you would for a small child until the day you die. It never ends.

Support is hard to get in some cases, and you have to know how to navigate the system. Even if you do have support (a supportive family, respite care, etc), at the end of the day, the kid is yours. I'll powerlevel, but my sister & her husband have to devote one week a year to their child with severe Autism's paperwork (and that's not because they let it pile up, it's one week where paperwork has to be filled out at this time & turn in at this time, not earlier) and meetings to ensure he continues to get the services he needs. Even though his Autism will never be 'cured', you have to prove they still qualify. And my sister & her husband are smart people, they are on top of their shit when it comes to their child, there's so much documentation, etc. I can't imagine being a family or person with a child with a profound disability and lacking the knowledge to obtain the resources, a language barrier, and not knowing about or knowing how to even start accessing the necessary services.

Remember my old teacher that I mentioned got shitcanned for putting a kid in a trashcan? Found the FB page for Karens who defended her.

20201213_114813.jpg

Can't say I'm surprised she managed to get her teaching certificate cleared. Disappointed, but not surprised.

Looks like someone also started a GoFundMe to help her stop her house getting foreclosed on
20201213_114835.jpg

"Her position was eliminated" is an interesting way of saying she got her ass fired for being a psycho putting 7 year olds in trash cans.

Maybe I'm biased, but I kinda feel like if you get fired for doing abusive shit to kids you shouldn't get bailed out from financial trouble or have FB pages where people lick your ass.

I think the difference is you get specifically trained to work with deaf/blind students. Most sped jobs dont even require a HS Diploma anymore.

I had to specifically take a long course training from:

I have to wonder if these people actually believe what they’re saying when they write “he loves to pet horses and play with chalk” or do they know deep down that the kid can’t actually play with chalk for shit and doesn’t know what a horse is?
In most cases its coping mechanism to deal with it.

It's a fairly disturbing story and the doctor, then an intern, had seriously considered just killing it. It's full of fairly shocking breaches of medical ethics.

The author says he read a case of a cyclops baby who lived for a year.

This all happened over 50 years ago. But I can't say I blame the doctor for wanting to kill the baby. It was psychologically disturbing the staff. A nuse was crying at the sight of it. It did feel pain and sounded like a baby but was technically not "human". Even if it lived a year it wouldn't have been able to do anything or interact normally. It wouldn't have been a downie or a little slow. It would have been a full blown potato. And given its physical appearance I feel terrible for anyone who had to care for it long term. If the baby was only physically deformed it would be different. Like Juliana Wetmore for instance. But when you are a potato there is nothing in that shell to really base a person's sense of self on. The brain is just too deformed and damaged to create a human mind. You might as well be an ugly doll with action features.

I know it's heartbreaking when all your hopes and dreams for your child are shattered by the fact that they will be a drooling, spasming vegetable for life. I can see where the projections of their "personalities" come from. Like the Hartley gremlins and Gwen's projections on them as sassy teens. The problems start when it turns into exploitation and medically fragile children are paraded around for photo ops and normal children are berated for being scared of them.

People rarely take into account the feelings and mental health of the medical professionals who have to care for babies and children who are, for lack of a better term, incompatible with life. I can't find the case now (and it wasn't Jahi), but there was a little girl in California who's family is insisting on keeping her alive, even though for all intents & purposes, they should have let her go a long time ago. The child screams every time she's touched and the nurses, who took a vow to heal and not to hurt, feel they are just torturing this poor child doing basic care and maintenance, like changing her diaper and her IVS, etc. The say that they understand that sometimes they have to 'hurt' or cause a patient pain, but with the knowledge that the ultimate end results is to heal the patient....with this child, they feel like they are just causing this poor child pain unnecessarily. There are nurses who refuse to work with the child because of how damaging it has been to their own mental health. Of course the mother is taking it to court, saying her child communicates with her, etc. But she is not the one subjected to the mental anguish of caring for this child.

Okay, sorry, rant over.
