It's a bit clever in the worst possible way to become a crunchy "holistic health" mbp mom to a disabled child. It's obviously not going to stop her running to the hospital and trying to control what all the doctors are trying to do, but she could feasibly fuck up as much as she possibly wants and it will look inconspicuous to every other crunchy dumbass who follows her. I mean, if Revie dies and the justice system can prove the mom significantly contributed to her death, she would still be charged with some type of murder. But in the meantime it's a lot easier for her to medically abuse her daughter under the guise of a "holistic approach."

This is Grey. He is 3. Near fatal drowning occurred June 17, 2025 in a neighbor's pool while mom was at work.
Mother is Daron Mathena:
She is a disabled veteran and neuro acupuncturist who believes Grey is going to have a meaningful recovery. She has 3 children, including Grey, and another baby on the way.

I'm not watching this tiktok cuz I cringe so hard in those types of tiktoks I'm always reminded of the Shaken Baby Mom.
Again, people should be more aware of the risks of the backyard pools. I posted some stats before and apparently pools are one of the top small children killers. So if you have a child put up a fence around your pool. I mean I kinda don't blame her yet for the accident if she was unaware of the risk and was taking care of 4 children at the same time. And now she's become a lunatic who doesn't understand brain damage is not fixable which is partially understandable. It's okay for a few months but if she doesn't stop being a lunatic then she's nuts.
Also for those people "meaningful recovery" is when the child learns to express 3 or 4 emotions like it flinches when it's unhappy and smiles when it's happy.
I try to avoid social media but I've gone lately.. There was a random woman I've never followed who was understandably venting about her son having level 3 autism. Then some idiot said you never know what your kid could be capable of. Capable of what? Going to the toilet alone at maximum? Fuck those idiots. I understand people deal with trauma in various ways but such comments are cruel. They don't lift up the parent at all.

I need to correct my original post about Grey. Mom thinks he will have a 100% recovery, not just meaningful, based on your explanation.
In August, she commented that he'd be eating on his own in 3-4 months.

That's a horrible fate. A different horror from the kids born sick. A healthy kid left to a trusted friend was neglected enough to drown but only noticed in time to live with brain damage.
We laughed in middle school when we saw a household safety video about a toddler drowning in a bucket that held a few inches of water. I hate that it's not a laughing matter in reality. Watch those kids!!

She states she has autoimmune PTSD from the military where she was a sonar technicianwhich caused her to go into acupunture. Here is her business.
This might end up being a dark rabbit hole. She self diagnosed her first child with ADHD to do "neuro acupuncture" on him. Now she has a 2nd child to do it on that she swears will heal his brain.
She has such bright lights on this child and his pupils are still so dilated and blown. The final video is from yesterday.

Well this isn't just meaningful it's a very good recovery.
Did she mean she has both an autoimmune disorder and PTSD? She can absoolutely have PTSD for real after the accident however autoimmune PTSD is not a thing.
It looks like she got absolutely 0 medical knowledge whatsoever and I knew more than her when I was 9. Again I understand she self diagnosed her child with ADHD but neuropuncture? My god. Though the boy prolly doesn't have ADHD he might just be fucked up emotionally from having dumb mother.
I hope that if this boy has his pupils blown like this it means he is gone completely. I hope it doesn't mean he's blind but can still feel pain. The best case scenario is that somebody forgets to close the window when it's cold and he catches pneumonia and dies. Sorry for being cruel.
I mean if she's stupid enough to do neuropuncture then she's most likely stupid enough to be antivax.. One of the kids will bring disease from school (if she doesn't homeschool lol) and the boy will catch pneumonia. Poor kids.

Any specific details about being an sonar technician? Like being an STG or an STS? Any specific ships or just complaining about how monotonous the rating is?
It's not exactly an position that'll easily induce PTSD, especially if she wound being the one who's just fixing that type of equipment

Oh boy, do we have another one who has taken the research into "inflammation" to mean that reducing "inflammation" cures everything? That's in quotes because to that sort it becomes an all-encompassing capital E Evil. It's the bs underlying Robyn/Luna's fascia bs too btw. It basically goes: any trauma, physical or psychological, can cause brain inflammation (true enough I guess), and autoimmune disorders can be caused by an inflammatory response, ergo psychological trauma causes autoimmune disorders??? I assume y'all are smart enough to see the problem here.

I don’t think Jude has been posted in this thread in a while. He’s now 11. Still alive - barely. Keeps trying to exit this earthly plane but the hospital keeps performing absolute heroics to keep him alive as a perpetual newborn. He has terrible seizures, his respiratory system is shot and he gets constant kidney stones. It’s so wrong.

Pedantry time: no, no it isn't. When people say "life support" they are pretty much always referring specifically to the ventilator. A hell of a lot more goes into it than that, but if you're breathing on your own you're not on life support. Supplemental nutrition is exactly that, nutrition; yeah, it's required for remaining not-dead, but it's its own thing.
The whole thing is horrifying, and you're right about the rest, but end of life conversations are complicated enough without confusing terminology.
