her surname is halfway between janky as in broken and junkie?Give me one sympathetic fact about Bella, and speculation about what may or may not have happened during her childhood doesn't count.
ClearlyMaybe I'm just too much of a bleeding-heart liberal
Everybody is different, but my I stated my view earlier. If you want mercy or sympathy, show a little first. If you want to act like a psychopath and hurt every living thing in your wake and then cry foul about it when it comes back to bite you on the ass, then fuck you.Can you only be sympatric to people who have redeeming qualities? I'd say no, having pity even for the monstrous is part of the way I approach life, but that doesn't mean that means excusing
You keep saying sympathy, it's even in the thread title. I think the subtlety is that for Bella I feel empathy (understand her 'situation' from her point of view i.e. how fucked I'd be), but not sympathy (feeling sad for her 'misfortune').It has been really interesting reading the replies and, believe it or not, the outrage expressed about ILJ's actions is something I do share.
My question about being too hard on her was not about the exposing of information, nor the memes, nor the rampant mockery (all of which are a-okay for a fun gal like ILJ) but the reddit-esque calls to action and the endless moralizing.
Maybe I'm just too much of a bleeding-heart liberal, but the more I hear about ILJ the more I believe that while she, like CWC, had no business being part of society, the question of how responsible she is for her actions means that she should be pitied rather than hated, and treated as a retard-nutcase rather than someone who is intentionally evil.
Sympathy for ILJ doesn't mean no sympathy for her victims, they deserve so much more, but it does mean that we should perhaps feel a little sad that another human life is wasted, and that the people who were supposed to have nurtured her to adulthood have, at best, neglected her psychological interests, and at worst actively abused her. That doesn't mean she should not be held responsible, just that the whole thing is kind of a tragedy.
These are exactly the kind of posts I've made about CWC, so it's not a case of simping...unless you're going to accuse me of chasing some sweet un-clit, but just reflecting my belief that if more young people were in hospital then less older people would end up in prison.
And you were here for Nick "I couldn't have raped that toddler because I enjoy playing with my own shit" Bate.Tbh I've never seen a lolcow I'm more okay with seeing take shit from the Farms.
Sympathy should be saved for the kind of cows that deserve it. Ullillia or Jenffer A. Jay. Sammy. Maybe some of the schizophrenics who aren't really in control of themselves, or Wogglebug Productions who might be as sad as you can get, but is harmless. This is all conditional speculation, that was the point of my question. If I didn't make clear that I was speculating I apologize. I went through some of the red-flags and highlighted them, just to show this is something I did give a bit of thought to. (Not to mention the animal abuse link I share earlier.)

I think this is a really interesting question. Can you only be sympatric to people who have redeeming qualities? I'd say no, having pity even for the monstrous is part of the way I approach life, but that doesn't mean that means excusing their actions, nor does it mean that it's the right way to approach life.
I think people are so interested in Bella because so much of her was laid bare by the leaks and yet so much remains mysterious. It's an intoxicating combination to many people I think.I wouldn't call it sympathy, more like indifference.
Like yeah, boiling hamsters is bad, I'm not going to dispute that, but it doesn't make her interesting.
I keep reading these Bella threads to discover why people seem so fixated on her and I just don't get it. Psychopathic people are everywhere. They have to do something entertaining first to be worth following, and I don't see it.
Yeah, I admit I'm voluntarily clicking on something I dislike then complaining about it, but I'm just trying to understand the appeal. I'll stop soon.
Some people are born with a high affinity for being evil. I'm not sure if I buy that babies can be born evil, but they can be born with genes and syndromes that are highly likely to influence them into becoming evil. In my opinion, anyway. Some people are born evil. I view this as the case here. Sometimes a small, innocent child will kill a person in cold blood and not react with any emotion. Same level imo
You may be right, I'm just basing this on the cases I've heard like the 7-8 year old girl in Japan who murdered a classmate with a box cutter then stood there watching her bleed out for like 15 minutes until she died, then went and calmly told the teachers what she'd done. As far as I'm aware that girl wasn't particularly abused or anything, but who really knows? Either way, some people just do evil shit with no particular rhyme or reason that a sane person could discern. Some people are born with a high affinity for being evil. Nevada-tan!
