I have a lot more sympathy for Chris than I'll ever have for Bella.
A lot of Chris' actions over the years are a direct result of coercion and manipulation by outside forces, and he wouldn't have done 1/10th of the retarded shit he's done if not for that.
This is not the case with Bella. She's not even a lolcow. It's not like she's reacting in a spergy way to people finding all this stuff out, or reacting much at all. Which makes it into something more sinister, where she'll eventually move completely under the radar and still do all of this fucked shit.

I’ve had similar thoughts about ILJ before, being a huge softie. It’s sad to see anyone’s life destroyed, and especially with her being so young. However, I realized that it was just me projecting values and morals onto someone I don’t know, and moved past it.
When someone has dealt with a bad childhood or mental illness, it’s natural to feel sympathy. But when you’re an adult, you cannot use that as an excuse for your shitty actions. If someone is 19 and still learning and growing, I personally take that into account, but with Bella there is evidence of a protracted campaign of abuse/misbehavior with no evident pause or moment of “what am I doing? I need help.” That, to me, shows that she is unworthy of anyone’s sympathies.

I always hold a bit of sympathy for someone who is young and screwed up, especially if there is an autism or developmental disorder present. I too made stupid mistakes in my youth, I too have an autism disorder, I too have mental health issues, but there is a line that Bella crossed that many people with developmental disorders and mental health issues don't cross. The line of common decency and not harming others, especially defenseless animals. Once this line is crossed, so is my sympathy for her, there are tons of people out there who have a tough life and difficult situations, but taking your frustrations out on animals and harming others is not acceptable. The second I saw that photo of the hamster in the pot was when my last shred of sympathy and concern for Isabella dried up.

I have no pity for this one. I’m human but I also see what we know is her posting. She wanted to be edgy? Well now she’s edgy. Edgy as fuck. Seen the videos of her dry humping some random girl? Oh yes, but pair it with the other red-flags, poor personal hygiene, BPD behaviours, sexually inappropriate behaviour, obsession with shota/loli crap the evidence is quite striking that she had some incident(s) of sexual abuse in her childhood.

Also it's kind of hard seeing people like ILJ as adults. I'm [Power Level] 50+, and I've come to think everyone under 21 is still a child (because they are, to a one, fucking retards.)

Now I'm not saying this is an excuse. As far as I'm concerned both CWC & ILJ need to be institutionalized until they are no longer dangers to themselves or others. I'm just not comfortable about pretending to be a champion of righteousness about this. It's fucked up.

Just an FYI, I'm not trying to convince anyone to back-off. I'm actually just interested in what other people's thoughts are about this are. I don't feel it does anyone any harm to have a moment to question their actions, opinions, and behaviours, and IMHO it's the ability to do just that the separates us from the likes of ILJ.

She is a pitiable individual, as many assholes tend to be if you actually look into their backstory or psychology.

I don't want anyone here to an-hero (as much as I see that comment on youtube). I would say that IBJ has been in trouble before, and gotten away with it (the previous investigation at her university over bullying, ie: that photo with the cake). This isn't a first strike kind of thing, nor even a second or third strike kind of thing. IBJ is a person who should have quit when she was ahead, or gotten smarter about hiding things. This entire saga is largely a result of that, and her digging her own hole deeper and deeper, thinking that she was much smarter than the web.

It's one thing to take advantage of a college's beaurocracy and its limitations on taking action, its another thing to take on the web with all gloves off, a place that isn't limited by pretty much anything.

The part that she did force on herself was in wanting to throw Fiona or Zoe under the bus, and essentially ruin their lives. With that, the moral annoyance side of me does come out personally, and I'm glad that she wasn't able to frame either of these people and that we are well beyond that being a possibility. Be careful around anyone who revels in punishing others, less because of maliciousness and more because I would say that more mature people tend to be more nuanced around these things and may have some sense of pity that comes with more understanding. Being choked by pity primarily lacks its own nuance on the inverse, really just watching someone eat the cake that they baked from themselves is what most people here are doing and thats a pretty fair approach imo.

With IBJ, she really took the L on this one on her own. The best case scenario with her is that she get some help, get off the web, go to therapy, and that her parents actually take a more active role in her life. Out of all lolcows though, yeah, we're not making up things and she is more deserving of the attention than most (both through her past behavior, and because of how intertwined she got with the poo for clout of all things). We're just posting her dirty laundry on a more accessible platform, and the results that come with that and people's reaction? Well, if you don't want to get lambasted for things such as torturing animals, don't do that.

Then she has a rich natal mom who sends her money. I'm not going to power level but I will leave it at no matter what you go through in life you have the option not to hurt others in response.

She made her choice and I won't afford her more sympathy than she shows others.
