One thing that I would like to see is an exploration of the "ecology" of the creatures of the Upside Down. I am sure that the Demodogs and Demigorgon are not the only inhabitants, as what do they eat in their dimension, otherwise? I would like to see Stranger Things go full Mist with some of the bizarre animals that you might find in the Upside Down that are not related to the Demodogs or Demogorgon.
I sure hope that Stranger Things season 4 is not going to be a Red Dawn/Breakfast Club rip-off like most of Season 3...and the Season 3 monster was disappointing.
Season 4 and 5 are basically like Part 1 and Part 2 of an overall bigger finale. So to be fair, they seem to have already got the series planned out and I'm pretty sure Season 5 is also either done filming by now or nearly done filming.
That being said, whole thing looks like dogshit. And I guess we can rule out the Chernobyl accident being caused by some fuckery in the Upside Down as was speculated by fandom for years. They really should've just called it quits after Season 1. Season 2 was Season 1 but even shittier because they had Eleven go on a pointless side road trip with some psychic hippies that were completely unimportant to the plot for the sole reason that she could've resolved the whole story in about 15 minutes. Season 3 was slightly better when they were focusing on Steve, Dustin and Robin (annoying black girl not included) but they also killed off based Billy so that takes points off.
EDIT: Oh yeah and don't forget that blatantly retarded last-minute plot change with Robin being a lesbian.
People always say shit like “Those kids gotta be twenty by now!” and here I am looking at the trailers and just thanking reality that people do in fact age.
I would never see this working out in the long run if they kept focusing on different groups of children.
Each season has been allowed to do it’s own thing.
S1 just focused on the children so much to push the Goonies vibe but it’s always been about tributes to 80s film and culture in general.
How did the guy in Russia know to send to package to the Byers in California? Last Hopper knew, they were still in Hawkins, Indiana. They didn't move until the very end of last season.
So far it's better than season 3 but Will, Mike, and Johnathan aren't doing much yet besides the shotout. The two new characters this season arent bad and Robin is less bad then the last season. The black sister is annoying though and was shohorned in.
Just finished the season. I thought it was better than both 2 and 3. Just wish Will, Mike, and Jonathan's story went somewhere. The obnoxious black girl wasn't in it too much, but I really hope she gets eaten.
I kinda thought this season (so far) was alright. Had a few moments I quite enjoyed.
Didn't so much care for most of the Russia stuff, and while the final moments of the bullshit Nina stuff were neat, Eleven playing Plinko for an entire episode just got stale. Better than most of season 3.
I'm surprised there is even a S4. It's decent and entertaining but the antagonist dude Vecna's backstory isn't all that compelling. All the scenes in the lab facility with the El girl were a snooze.

IDK man, a psychopath that turned into a humanoid abomination is pretty fucking cool and, if I'm honest, more terrifying than a vague eldrich abomination, because of the human level intellect.
Because Anemoia - That's nostalgia for a time you never experienced - is a very real phenomena. This is a time when America hadn't been in an unending war for 20+ years, when good music was coming out, and objectively awesome movies were being released.

The CG of the tentacle monster Vecna are cool visually I agree. However, the origin story of how he as a kid found some supernatural ability that he sought to strengthen and use to destroy the world over some naive, petulant understanding of the world is just painfully cringe.

I wouldn't say its a naïve, petulant understanding of the world. A lot of psychopathic serial killers have a similar mindset - 'I am the wolf among sheep', and Vecna very clearly is a psychopath serial killer.
Further, he's literally superhuman. IDK if you've played any TTRPGs that deal with it, but superhumans / people who have left their humanity behind tend to have... Some sort of psychosis. Someone who is heavily augmented with cybernetics would have cyberpsychosis, so lets call this 'superhuman psychosis'.
Baseline humans are, quite literally, beneath him in every possible way, he has the ability to kill them effortlessly. Of course he's going to be completely and utterly deranged. Include the time that he spent in the Upside Down, no shit he's going to be incredibly disturbed. Plus, he's apparently connected to the Mind Flayer, who has shown multiple times that it will have a tantrum if it doesn't get its way.
However, I do feel that you are kinda right - The fact that Vecna / Henry Creel / 001 naturally had psychic powers is weird as fuck, because it was established that Eleven got her powers via MKUltra experiments on Eleven's mother that included dosing her with LSD and submerging her in sensory deprivation tanks while pregnant. This somehow made her (weakly) psychically active, and her powers were passed on to Eleven. This is low-key supported by Hopper talking about (the very real, very historical fact) that men in Vietnam who were exposed to Agent Orange passed on horrific genetic defects to their children. And yet Vecna / Henry Creel / 001 just developed them spontaneously? And the "Department of Energy" (CIA, lets be honest) just happened to figure out that dosing pregnant women with LSD and submerging them in Sensory Deprivation Tanks would replicate 001's powers? THAT makes no sense what so ever.
