Well, they're looking for artists, and the social justice side of the fandom doesn't usually make fanart (except for a lot of pictures of Steven and Lars as trans girls); mostly, they just bitch about stuff in the show through angry text posts. They've actually hired fanartists before. I know of at least one fanartist on Tumblr, http://gracekraft.tumblr.com/, who has worked on the official comics. I think they're just looking for someone who draws, not someone who would have any say over the show's plot.

Considering the trouble the storyboarders on Adventure Time got in trouble years ago, I doubt that they have a long leash. It's going to be an incredibly small number of people who are viable candidates anyway.

Princess Bubblegum and Marceline? The pairing was confirmed by the show's creator as canon(in the show's past), but yeah, I'd heard CN wouldn't allow it to be explicitly stated.

Teens are technically in transition between childhood and adulthood. Problem is some never reach the transition mentally.

Funny thing is, not only is the joke misdirection (UG's dressed similar to Rose for a reason guys) but if anything, seeing who it actually is made Steven more amazed

There's nothing wrong with that (unless you're Chris), but that's not good enough for the Tumblrites. In Tumblr-Land, a guy can't wear dresses and still be a guy; it makes him a "demigirl" or some such shit. For all of their talk about destroying gender roles, they sure do think gender defines your entire identity.
