Is it any good or its just full of plot holes and bad acting like the previous one?

I just saw it. I found this movie to be enjoyable just as with the last one. I won't go any further than that for the sake of spoilers.

Bring on Episode 8!

The only thing I would say is probably don't see it in 3D, there are some scenes that end up too dark or with fucked up depth of field that I think would have honestly looked better at a regular showing.

I don't think this is a spoiler, but some people are sticklers for this shit. It's about CG appearances of two original trilogy characters, it's exactly the people you'd expect to show up if you thought about it for ten seconds.

People are bitching about Tarkin looking like shit, but I honestly wouldn't have known he was CG if I didn't know that the guy that played him was dead. I rely think that most of the bitching about "muh uncanny valley" comes form the fact that the original actor was a fucking strange looking dude IRL. Carrie Fisher bothered me way more because they tried so hard to make her look exactly like she did in ANH that it looks like she was shot on different film stock and inserted into the shot because her color and white balances are different from the rest of the shot.

The Empire Strikes Back is a perfect film, and I respect A New Hope for setting it up and Return of the Jedi for giving us a somewhat satisfactory conclusion. But Empire is dabes.

I saw it last night and thought it turned out way better than I expected. The only thing I'm willing to spoil outright is they took out that stupid "I rebel" line from the trailers. The final act was definitely the highlight. If you're still on the fence, I say you should check it out.

THEY ALL FUCKING DIE.

I am so glad that happened and I mean that in a good way. The only way I thought this film was gonna work was if at least Jyn died trying to send out the Death Star plans. It would've been horrible had they done some heroes welcome for the ending like A New Hope and we never hear from them again.

One of the funniest bits I have seen on screen recently:
The scene where everyone is taken to Gerrera and Chirrut Îmwe gets a bag placed over his head.

Welp, now I have to see it.

Saw it tonight with the missus. We both really enjoyed it. It's not as emotionally resonant as the main series films - mainly because you don't have long to get to know the characters because this film's constantly on the move, but it's a worthy and enjoyable entry in the series and leads really well into A New Hope. The battle scenes are spectacular - some of the best in the franchise. Darth Vader kicks some serious arse - great to see him back on the big screen. There's also literally no identity politics or anti-Trump shit in this film, unless you're autistic enough to look for it harder than an SJW looks for sexism and racism in everything. The #DumpStarWars people are retards.

However, I did have one pet peeve:

CG Tarkin looks seriously fake in some shots. There are others where he looks okay, but most shots are just embarrassing. Maybe it's because I've watched Peter Cushing a lot, but the unrealness really took me out of the film. It wouldn't have been too bad if it was just one scene, but you could practically call him a secondary character considering the number of times he pops up. CG Leia wasn't very good either but at least that was just one shot.

Tarkin being in the movie isn't a spoiler. He was in both trailers...

Yeah, he is kinda painfully CGI. If they would've kept him in the shadows or at a distance, it wouldn't be too bad, but the close-ups are painfully bad.

Whoever they got doing the voice was A+, though. Sounded exactly like him in A New Hope, right down to tone and inflection.

The rest of the CGI was pretty solid, aside from some Star Destroyers occasionally having the prequels "Obvious CGI because they look like shiny, clean white plastic instead of weathered spacecraft" issue. None of the rebel ships or the smaller imperial ships run into this CGI flaw, though.

And yes, a lot of the cringey shit from the trailers is gone. None of that "WHERE WILL YOU HIDE?" or "I rebel." crap made it through.

Reminds me of the methods for how they made a younger Jeff Bridges as CLU via CGI for Tron Legacy.

Yeah, I kinda consider this movie to be the Halo: Reach of the star wars movies where:
All the main characters bite it with the lead character dying last in a last stand situation and the Tantive IV escaping the empire at the end, ala the pillar of autumn. That's the way I see it as.

People leaving after the film were actually muttering that Tarkin was "The worst thing since digital Jeff Bridges"

It's on that level of infamy and I'm surprised Disney let it slip through.

I loved almost everything else, though. They nailed the atmosphere of the Galactic Civil War (Original trilogy) era.

The computers and ship interiors all have that 80s sci-fi look, the rebellion troops/ships all look grizzed and well-used, and the imperial sets, costumes, and behaviors all feel very...imperial.
