Can we even call that one a B'lanna focusssed episode? She just fucking lies there for most of the episode. I think it was a more of a Doctor episode.
It's one that rides the line for me. Probably more of a Doctor episode, but her reaction is a big focus. Sort of a variation on when Geordi makes Leah Brahms and discovers she's not the same as the simulation.

B'lanna episodes are just as bland and one note as Chakotay episodes. Every episode for him is about Akoochicoochiecoo or whatever his fake god is called. But every episode for her is "Muh half-Klingon/half-human heritage" and she learns to reconcile those two halves at the end, but forgets that lesson by the time she has another focus episode.

Except for that one where the Doctor makes Cardassian Mengele on the Holodeck to help save her life. That one's really, really good.

Neelix tends to have the best focus episodes out of the main cast, aside from that recurring arc in season 2 where he's worried everyone's trying to cuck him. But that one where his lungs get stolen, or the one with not-Oppenheimer or the one where he dies for a bit are insanely good. Obnoxious character, but his focus episodes are easily some of Voyager's best. Very odd.
Yeah, Ethan Philips is the most cursed when it comes to good actor, terrible script problems. His performance in general is less annoying than the character on the page. In some cases, like with Jetrel, his performance really elevates that story and gives Neelix of all characters some dimension.

We all know it, even she knows it.

I do wonder if she'd have become the Chakotay of the show with the authors having nothing interesting to write for her throughout the 7 seasons if she had stuck around.
If Crosby stayed on, would she have taken Worf's role on DS9?

I personally liked "Once Upon a Time" as a Neelix episode.

She and Nina Visitor saved use from some awful plotlines in the 90s.
What if? Maybe Dukat would not end up turning heel halfway through the series. He was always kinda riding the line up until that point. Bro was one good fuck away from staying semi-reasonable.

But Nana was actually correct that Dukat was the Shogun of Bajor, he has a breeding kink and kids on every shithole planet like he's Mister Worldwide, which makes intimacy between the two difficult. Kira's not that dumb.

Did someone already mention how the Tom Paris character was originally meant to be Janeway's boy toy but Kate Mulgrew said oh hell no to that entire plot line?
Is that why they fucked as lizards in "Threshold"?
I hate that the Voyager crew never got new uniforms. It feels like every show should've had at least one uniform change at the midway of the show itself
Felt so uncreative that they kept the same early season DS9 uniforms instead of getting updated threads from Starfleet when they reestablished coms
At least Janeway was shown wearing a DS9 uniform in Nemesis.

Remember when time went backwards (or something) and Nurse Ogawa's baby reverted to unfertilized cellular goo?

I can't remember if that was an affect of the anomaly in All Good Things or the planet in Insurrection. Either way it's never really addressed how fucked up that is, probably because it would entail giving the actress more lines.

I wonder if in a situation like that, say if you had previously been real fat then lost some weight, if you'd become fat again.

Aye that was All Good Things, also she got turned into a monkey and her baby helped save the crew

I never understood that shit either! And they did the same exact thing in Generations. It was just some stupid Paramount accounting.

It reminds me of when they made the Superman logo all flat and minimalist. Except Voyager's wardrobe looks cheap as hell for what’s supposed to be a cutting-edge ship.

Temporal Investigations uniforms were sharp as hell

Rutia IV cops were cool for one episode, bring those costumes back.

I bet they could have easily gotten the costume department to whip up enough new styled starfleet uniforms for a change if they cannibalized some of the alien uniforms. It was a real travesty they never did that for Voyager and just let em wear that outdated shit for the entire series

I mean like you said, they HAVE the talent there. Voyager ends way after DS9 ended and they had already ditched the grey collar uniorms for the grey shoulder ones. They couldve given us something nice for to end the the trilogy of TNG, DS9 and Voy

... they shouldve stuck Neelix, Seven of Nine and Kes into uniforms

I wish they had brought back the Srivani. They dont even get a mention in STO
The one episode they were in brought up so much intrique that couldve been explored later on or in different series

It feels like a lot of Star Trek brings up cool things on a per episode basis that couldve worked for arcing storylines but they just never do

It was the 90s, audiences couldn't keep up with a serialized story like today according to studio execs at the time. You can thank Bob Iger for that when he fucked around with Twin Peaks.
