Please advise me on when / where / what brand to buy new sticks from to get the best deal ($100 max. but I'd prefer if it was lower)

Preferably 32 gb. I'm tired of being a 16cel.

Need to know your mobo to know what memory it supports,

Amazon has 32GB of ram for $50 rn. Corsair is a pretty decent brand, I've never had trouble in my machines. Especially if you're going for a budget build At your pricepoint you could go to 48GB easy and still stay under budget. Avoid anything with RGB lights on it, that's a tard tax and you don't need it.
Is fine if you have a DDR4 board, but if you have a DDR5 board, you'd probably be better off with lower-end DDR5

Joking aside, if your spec is DDR4, G.Skill Tridents are pretty excellent and they look great. You can get 64GB cheap.

Also Stalker 2 is out?
It's been out for like 2 or 3 days now. Guess Microsoft wouldn't allow them to keep delaying the game forever. And turns out A-Life either doesn't exist or is broken so the game world feels super empty and lifeless outside of obviously scripted / random encounters (90% of the time only with enemies), and that was really draining whatever interest I might have still had for this game before this little mess happened.

if you care about performance and not only replacing them, make sure to get b-die on zen 3 platform and intel (DDR 4 architecture for both). m-die if you're on zen 4 (DDR 5), a-die if you're on intel (DDR 5).
there are guides and lists online that will tell you the die's that different manufacturers use for the respective kits. AMD doesn't require as much of tinkering or investment as intel. there are calculators out there that will do the required math for you when it comes to taking off the EXPO/XMP training wheels.

last word of advice: don't give a fuck about RGB autism. it is just another source of heat and the last thing you want for your DDR 5 is to hit 50°c - 55°c because it will become unstable at that point, avoid another blowout.

For those still in the thread, Stalker 2 runs like shit on my Radeon RX 580, what inexpensive(I know its a oxymoron) graphics card should be able to run it?
