Seeing this thread bob up again makes me crave for simpler times when /tg/ station still ran NTSL-comms (if you know, you know) and captains used their power and their sabers to run their stations like Sudan including turning taters into nugget-people and punitive gender reassignments.
Completely lost track of Lifeweb and Scorcher too.
And of course the thing that brings the thread back is another clash between tranny-cliques.

EDIT: I love it's similarities with NixOS, both have a Dutch autist who kicked it off, made the error of inviting people of gender as community managers (including a real specimen from the plural systems community!), then getting putsch'ed, and memory-holed by fags.
I would almost feel bad for him but he seemed to have opened the door for them himself.

one of things that always annoyed me since 2020's is that there's no actual ss13
I think part of the issue is the original game "core" has stagnated (due to trannies) so much that it feels "unfun" to the majority of players (them becoming coom-brained with no attention span also has to do with it I think).
written in Jai instead of C# and if you disagree with me on this it means you're a nigger.
Terry Davis would run you over. Code it in HolyC and create an unfathomable horror that crashes every time there's a minor bug.
If you want ss13 to never exist again in any fashion then the appropriate response is to not play it and discourage other people from playing it, which the tranny servers richly deserve to be fair. It dying will not help a successor come into being however, quite the opposite. In fact gaming in general is dying and likely will almost completely die.
Personally I feel disinclined to introduce new players because of the fact the hub list is filled with erp servers at the top (cue the "why are you gay?" pastor) That means a combination of:
1) Everyone I introduce thinks I'm a gay yiff gooner trooner
2) They end up gooning/trooning
3) Ick. Leave.
4) Stay on something like riviera (least likely outcome most of the time imo)

CM did well with their own launcher, but that becomes a dead end. I've been thinking if a better solution would to have webring like server list instead, hosted by each server.

CM is bed rotting 24/7 with no real changes since 2024
TGStation tried too hard to be a proper game, now its got no identity
Lifeweb and Scorcher gatekeeps well, its actually not that bad but certainly becoming normie-fied
Ashen Sky is alright too, but people feel icky about the lootboxes
Mojave Sun killed itself after realizing they were just making prettier version of Fallout13
Escalation is populated by edgy teens that kill the game after a month
Artemis is in development hell
IS12 is like Lifeweb but it doesn't like being called Lifeweb (also hosted by Matt lol)
RogueTown sort of died too? It got necrofied as an ERP server which was giga gay

The pattern is: Passionate group of dudes work together on a project -> Aim for the stars -> Overstimate their goals -> Invite people who like the idea stick around but don't share the passion -> Devs burn out by either too much shit to do, or too much drama which splits the group and nothing gets done -> Original group gets replaced by newer, opportunistic devs -> They aim for the stars.

This is normal, the yield for that sort of thing is on the order of 1% you need a lot of attempts to get a good and successful one, and accounting for how much effort a real attempt takes and how unlikely it is to fully succeed that is why its such bad news when a good one is lost

Except the quality and vision are completely twisted and the work of others is taken advantage of by the wrong people. Imagine years of effort only to end up having your codebase leaked and repurposed with furry sprites

I dont think they are ever going to touch this code unless they are already facing crushing defeat at some point years down the line and are trying to discourage me

At present there is no reason to think either of those things will happen although it would be funny

Here's your Juneteenth War Update

PJB has posted a big Status Update (archive) where he offers to "go full LummoxJR."

1781909474897.png

There's a new website tracking all hubs.
Blue = PJB Green = AntiPJB. Here is a screenshot of the present. It looks like Fake WizDen controls a few of the largest English servers and PJB controls most of everything else. Given 90+% of future new players are going to arrive via the Steam entry, I reiterate things look good for PJB even if RMC were to switch.
1781909594366.png

PJB further confirms the legal larp is centered around "Vervana Services." This is the Alabama government page for this business. (archive)
1781909626515.png
Formed last year by Jacob Patterson and James Goode, formerly called "TRAVELWISE LLC." Located in someone's personal residence. No public presence. The workshy childbrains of SS14 'cord likely don't realize every 2nd DoorDash driver has an LLC and are assuming that an LLC must be srs bsns.

Jacob Patterson is also who signed the cease and desist. He seems to be the head of the WizDen legal entity LARP.

1781909960194.png
He had a LinkedIn on the day of the cease and desist, I held off on posting it then because I was unsure of his level of involvement besides writing the C+D. He has deleted his LinkedIn within the past few days. It used to be at this url. It's cached, though. And the above picture was his LinkedIn avatar. Interesting how a software engineer is drafting their legal documents! He appears in the picture album for his late grandmother Judy Patterson (archive)

(Presumably) Graduation in 2016. CBA to go further. Nobody knows who he is on Discord or Github, which is really interesting. Presumably he's friends with Jezithyr/Jesse Rogeau since that's who leaked the details that confirmed his LinkedIn.

Okay it's this guy. Aerospace engineer (he worked at A-P-T on his linkedin) and furry ERP server developer. Take a look at his github (archive).

Editor's note: Floofstation is a furry ERP server which has been featured in this thread (1, 2) before for its (lack of) handling underage users.

To confirm this is him, he's left work related stuff on a public github repo (archive). Specifically, he worked at A-P-T Research on his LinkedIn, an Alabama company. This repo is full of stuff with A-P-T research directories. Remember, always use your work account to contribute to furry ERP groomdens.

Hello all. If you don't know me, I'm Kayek. I've been playing ss14 for about 4 years now and was an active Wizards den admin for 2 years. I officially left during the first admin walkout due to reasons that I won't explain here, but you are free to read up on them in our open letter here: Departure

The purpose of this post is to highlight PJB publicly slandering me and the other admins who walked out in 2024, in the public forum thread found here: https://forum.spacestation14.com/t/the-bus-factor/28008/10 and her sequentially deleting my post and banning me for speaking up.

PJB claimed that I and the other admins who walked out "have become increasingly aggressive and abusive towards project staff." I took offence to this because I have personally held this game and its community in great respect and have tried my best to pour out my heart and soul for this project, and I know many of us have done the same.

Seeing PJB slander the first admin walkout, and by association me, for the umpteenth time, I responded to her with this:

PJB responded about a minute later by deleting my post and suspending my forum account.

My purpose here is to present this information to the community, as I feel PJB is instead the one being aggressive and abusive by actively trying to squelch and censor me for disagreeing with her.

Additionally, i am not claiming to represent CE & Co. Based on my own views and understanding, I have not personally been made aware of any aggressiveness or abuse toward the current project staff.

I'm not here to make any personal claims about her actions or discuss whether this ban was valid or not, but rather to present this to you and ask that you make your own informed decision based on the information PJB tries to hide from you.

PJB has assumed RIGHTFUL OWNERSHIP of the SS14 Discord, like Napoleon's return to Paris. Unfortunately I left it a few months ago and invites are currently paused (presumably until PJB has finished cleansing it of filth), so I can't post any announcements if he's made one. If you're still in it, please check. In the meantime, the People's Republic of Wizden have created a backup Discord.

Announcement of the server hijack:

Even though I believe PJB is (somehow) going to come out the better person in this, it's quite funny to see him continue to use the "waahh nobody treats me like a human!" playbook. It's what he's been doing for years, acting like he's being persecuted like it's the holocaust. You're an asshole and you constantly reap what you sow, be a human and face the consequences.

Was kind of hoping their infighting would do more damage before it ended but it is what it is
I think the future of Alabama WizDen depends on what their patron does. The LLC larp guy is an old Jez and Smugleaf ERP buddy (maybe even IRL ERP, who knows.)
1782253337275.png

Per the last meeting unclear.minutes, (archive), Mr. Patterson is funding the legal larp himself.
1782253400253.png
It looks like he's not willing to drop $100k+ USD which is what this would require.
1782253491432.png
Or maybe he is going to drop $100k? The meeting notes are contradictory.
1782253607647.png
WizDen (Jezithyr) assures everyone morale is high internally and if it's not it's PJB's fault.
1782253924983.png
(Couple days old) The initial showing of WizDen (Jezithyr) was not that bad.
1782254056038.png

PJB said on the SS14 Devbus voice chat that he's been advised to ignore the legal larp so nothing's gonna happen until someone coughs up lolsuit money. I don't see it panning out, we're probably just going to see a new steam page get created.
