South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

imagine if they were capable of having a nuanced discussion about trump in reality though. be a cold day in hell

Back in the day I fully expected them to endorse Trump and making him like some sort of heroic character.

Hey, Trey! Hey, Matt! Seth MacFarlane did this with George W. Bush! How's that L?

It was. South Park revived Isaac Hayes' career and legacy. He was practically destitute when they hired him for the show, it was the only reason they could afford him!
The irony of course being that scientology was one of the main things that drained his bank account.
When one remembers these guys played devil's advocate for George fucking W. Bush.
It wasn't even them playing the other side. It was an entire episode shilling for the official 9/11 government narrative. It was no different than those old WWII cartoons promoting whatever propaganda the allied governments were pushing. George Bush could not have paid for a more effective piece of war propaganda for his presidency.

They can't, through. The whole point to it is that it's like a theme park. "The Disney Land of Mexican restaurants". It's not something they can mass produce like a Chillies.
They could put one in every big city and tourist destination.

Did you know Disney has parks in California, Florida, China and France, and a franchisee has a Disneyland in Japan!

If they can't even make the one restaurant profitable, I don't see how that could work. But I'm no business whiz like Trey Parker.
That’s because it’s in Denver. If that place was in a tourist destination like Orlando, they could make bank on a larger location.

Their biggest issue is that the place is too limited in capacity for them to have decent margins. It’s a lot of square footage, but shockingly little seating.

It took decades to build those five parks, and they had the backing of one of the largest media conglomerates behind them. Maybe someone could make it a successful franchise, someone with experience in hospitality and reel estate. Two cartoonists don't fit that bill.

A place that requires big infrastructure to operate, but doesn't have enough capacity to host the amount of customers necessary to pay for it, and cannot be expanded because they autistically insist it remains in the same property, as it was, and it's fucking Denver which means it's expensive for no other reason than Californians swarming in, is a money pit. There is a reason why it closed.

It's generally unwise to buy businesses that have closed, unless you have sorted out that it wasn't the location but the business that failed and you think another business in that location might be successful, but same business on same location, for nostalgia reasons, because you're ostensibly rich from a dwindling iconic TV Show is hubris.

If they weren’t retarded, they’d hire someone who knows what they’re doing to run the operation, but they are.

Someone in the thread once suggested they should have just bought the name Casa Bonita and then cut a deal with Universal to create a South Park zone ala Harry Potter and anchor it with a scaled down version of Casa Bonita with South Park elements added to it.

The Colorado State History Museum has a small exhibit on South Park and Casa Bonita. I saw when I was in Denver in December 2018. Since it was a slightly unorthodox museum, I figured some hip Gen X historian was the one responsible for putting them exhibit up. Now I’m thinking Parker and Stone had a hand in it.

Regarding the Casa Bonita armchair quarterbacking: there comes a point where you stop being interested in giving fucked up people advice as to how to unfuck their lives. For me, it turns out that line was equating my (at least partially held) political stance with someone who buttfucks the Devil.
