Thread Tax: What do Neopets, the Spyro series, and the live-action Cat in the Hat film have in common?

The answer? They all have a video game entry where Keith Leary (in the form of Game Audio Ltd.) served as composer, in Neopets' case it's the Darkest Faerie for the PS2 and for Spyro it's A Hero's Tale.

Here are a few examples.

The funny thing is that Keith Leary wasn't the first person to work on the sountrack for Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Guy Cockcroft was originally brought onto the project to work on the game but the folks at Vivendi Universal didn't like the work he submitted. He actually cleaned up and remastered the work he did submit and published it onto Bandcamp.

The synth starting from 1:55 is an emotionally transcendent moment to me.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the soundtrack for the movie Avatar (2009) by James Cameron.

The soundtrack was made by the late James Horner — who made the soundtracks to many other great movies such as An American Tail, Titanic and Braveheart etc. — and it's absolutely fantastic.

No matter what you think of the movie (I personally love it), the soundtrack is simply great.

One of my favourite tracks from this soundtrack is this one:

It has a magical feeling to it.
