good news, everyone

Ok, never heard about this fucker before. I searched his profile on IMDB and found this:

No movies directed before, credits in only 5 films, all of then in technical duties that nobody cares about. And Paramount gave this motherfucker with the experience of a grip boy 90 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!11

What the fuck is wrong in hollywood? He is a man!!! You're supposed to couch hire hot ladies.

It makes me very uncomfortable that there are probably tons of people on Twitter that want to fuck that thing.

I’ll give the director some credit in that at least he didn’t attack the fans for not liking the design.

Midnight's Edge mentioned Paramount doesn't like doing reshoots and the like (no studio does, but Paramount's been hurting for cash apparently), so they might not be happy with the thought of having to go back to redesign and therefore reanimate (thanks to the re-rigging) and re-rendering everything Sonic's in. This could push back the date on this if it gets serious enough, but I doubt they'll do it and stick to the November schedule.

I think it's cool they're listening to people, but honestly? This would've been much simpler if they had showed Sonic on the teaser poster first thing because then they could've gone back to do all of that before we had to see him in motion. Even then, wasn't there talk that the leaks weren't "final"?

I don't know, something reeks here, and it's not chili dogs.

It's impossible, rendering is too slow.

Remember Matrix Reloaded? This movie has some of the worst CGI of all times, ironically, the sequel, revolutions, has amazing digital effects that still hold up today. it happened because they didn't have time to render all the CGI in the second movie, so they released everything with PS2 graphics because there were no other options. The final film of the trilogy looks great because the render farms worked on the effects of that movie for 6 whole months no stop. It takes a long ass time.

Avatar reportedly took 23 hours to render ONE frame of CGI. Shit is insane. The movie won't be remade, it's fucking over.

I feel kinda bad for those animators on Sonic. Yeah, what they produced is pretty disturbing, but at the same time animating is the most thankless fucking job in the film industry. You know the people working on this worked their hands to the bone trying to squeeze this movie out. And now that they're actually changing the design, it's only going to get worse for those poor souls as they get crunched to get it all redone by November.

And even then, Sonic speds will still hate this.
(Then again, I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't like this.)

Not only has it been covered on multiple sonic news sites but the PR guy who runs the official sonic twitter retweeted it and the IDW people who run the comic are making a fuss about it on twitter too. If they don't truly change anything there's gonna be a gigantic shitstorm.

Fanboys are never happy, but I’m pretty sure almost everyone thought this was a terrible design

I'm sure those poor bastards will despise Sonic and his autistic fandom after they've been put through the wringer remaking the Sonic CGI. As it should be tbh.

2019 is already a wild year for films, but Sonic the Hedgehog is proving itself to be the most controversial movie of the year alongside blue Will Smith and too-realistic CG lions. Holy fuck why is this a thing.

But you can't make make minors watch something that is so aethestically unpleseant. This is bordering into abuse. I mean...it's deeply disturbing, Sonic's mouth looks like it came from those old Clutch Cargo cartoons, and I'm pretty sure that that black truck is Goliath from Knight Rider. When Cyclops screamed, I screamed with him.
I can tell you firsthand that kids will watch anything.
I remember going to see the first Live-Action Smurfs movie and I liked it somewhat.
I know better now.

I will give them props for acknowledging how much they fucked up. In this day of age, it's almost expected for them to start blaming everyone but themselves. So good luck fixing the design guys! The film will still be shit but the thought helps.

It's kind of nice to see them acknowledge the horrible design, but judging from the trailer it's like putting a band-aid on a severed arm. The biggest problem's the fact it just looks like some generic buddy cop movie, but with Sonic thrown in, and Jim Carrey being named Eggman. Barring completely scraping the film and starting over, which will never happen, this film is fucked six ways from Sunday whatever they do.
