Sure would have been nice to have those plot points in the movie, but I guess the human wedding drama was just too important.
-shrugs- Two full origin stories vs setting up GUN and giving the human characters something to do so they’re not fully invoked in the plot. it’s not the best case scenario, but I’m alright with it. We got why Tails would have a hero worship of Sonic and why Knuckles originally hates him.

Old Movie Sonic is going to show up in some weird Disney Plus "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" rip-off that's about Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers or something.

Now there is no fucking way I'm watching this and giving Disney money in the process just to see the weird-looking Sonic again especially after it's not funny anymore, once clip(s) of it surface then fuck it but my expectations are justifiably low.

The movie looks awful and like Space Jam 2 all over again, the only thing that I have seen that I liked was the washed-up Peter Pan but many because it reminded me of Steve Cutts' "Where Are They Now?" video which was based on Who Framed Roger Rabbit (as well.)
the best part of this shit.png

Really do wish Chris was here tho because once again like Sonic Prime, Sonic has ties to MLP in a weird way but this time it's not voice actors and it's that the ponies from the show are in this Chip n’ Dale movie for some reason.

What a funny but sad world.
Huh.
Movie Sonic's world is actually called Mobius like in the early USA Sonic bibles. I love little obscure nods like this.

I wonder how long until Penders claims that they somehow owe him tribute for "popularizing" the name.
Pretty sure why it is in the Archie comics comes from how it was in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and SATAM because it started as a fusion of pre-release concepts.

They also popularized the name and were going to do it regardless of whether the comics were made, so I feel like we should factor that in if he wants to play this kind of game.

Btw this was before Ken was even working on the comic (which was Issue #11) as well so either way he's blowing smoke out of his asshole.

Geezus this looks awful. They even claim Chip is hand-drawn but he's clearly just a weirdly shaded cgi like in that new Tom and Jerry movie. Even Space Jam 2 (which was a fucking disaster) didn't look this bad. I mean how hard was it to just make a cute little adventure story about rodent detectives? They can't even be arsed to raise the pitch of the voices for fear of the voice actors becoming unrecognizable which is just plain ego-driven. Whole thing looks like its a disaster movie made by /co/fags. Even ugly movie Sonic can't save this one, especially since, as you said, that joke has long since run its course.

Also as much as I like "where are they now" parodies, the Peter Pan one sort of hits a minor nerve since the original character represented not just JM Barrie's notion of the wonders of youth but it was also an ode to his deceased brother who he and his family considered "forever a boy".

I already said that the writers and directors are smug speds who want to pretend they're smart with this awful take in the Brainless Bob thread. I stand by this decision.

If you wanted to be "smart", a funner take would be to have the detective story, but then have Chip and Dale do different takes on it when it's from their POV. Like Chip's would've been the full on noir genre, moody lighting, no one can be trusted, and then Dale pipes in with a goofier Starsky and Hutch Miami vibe setting, and the two get annoyed with each other as they start arguing with each other.

And then when each of their viewpoints was prevailing, the cinematic style they preferred would be used. So when Chip was being right, it would be nearly in black and white, or sepia tones, and when Dale pipes in with his Hawaiian shirt attitude, it would all be in pastel Miami Vice type colors.

Also why does this look like absolute shit from the '70s? It looks like absolute trash compared to the 1988 Roger Rabbit. I can understand a budget film not coming up to current levels of CGI, but why the fuck does it look so SHIT? There's no excuse for releasing a movie in 2022 that would have been an embarrassing chink knockoff in 1989.

Apparently he’s not actually Peter Pan, just a character called Dirty Dan who dressed like him.

And if the 4chan leaks are to be believed(and parts of them have already been shown to be true), then the real villain and true mastermind of the movie is Pluto, made that he was upstaged by Chip and Dale. Also he’ll talk.

I guess this is it, can't find anything else but there's a strong chance that because of the big rat.

I can't believe they made a reference to a bootleg.jpg

Holy hell. This movie really doesn't need to exist.

Even a Sonic & Garfield crossover would've fared better.

I doubt Null would let Disney boss him around to get the pictures removed.

How the fuck is it worse-looking than the original trailer Sonic?

Disney needs to end it all in Minecraft. There's no coming back from this if that's real.

I’m going to assume the image is shipped because that particular scene is meant to take place in the past, when Chip and Dale were on air.

But that could just be me assuming the movie would try and stay consistent with its plot.

EDIT: just looked up the trailer for the scene and he’s not there.

Yeah I know, that part was meanly meant to be a joke but Disney has tried to pull some shit in the past like with the lego sets so there is some truth to it in a way.

Anyways something I thought to bring up, is the bootleg I paired the screenshot up, its Sonic sprite looks just as dead inside and confused as Sonic in the said screenshot.

Old Movie Sonic being around back in the 90s doesn't make sense which just makes it even more obvious that you were the last second edition.

If anything Mario Movie's Mario Mario should have shown up instead of Sonic here, something I know a person on here would enjoy seeing.

Up until people realize they deepfaked the late Bob Hoskins's likeness like they're gonna do Stan Lee's in Marvel
I bet Bob Chipman wouldn't even give a shit tbh tho, maybe he would fake outrage about it but that's all.

It would be even better if they replaced if they said that they replaced Sonic with Mario in the movie, you just know his reaction to that would be legendary.

@Liquid Marlon A friend had disney+ access so here's sonic
He is the stuff of nightmares, worse than the original ugly sonic even

Edit: Scene in full
I like how they make him out to be uglier then any of the other realistic CGI garbage in the movie like Dale, who looks just as bad.

Also there's one scene that isn't in that video and it has something to do with the ending or something.
Damn I miss when making fun of his teeth was funny.jpg

I actually really like the idea of having him try to be relevant after the redesign and hell maybe he should have been one of the main characters, but that would be in service of a movie that has peter pan as the villain as a bitter hasbeen after he grew older and they stopped using him in movies, with gadget fucking the fly and having many fly/mouse kids, and any humor coming from any of this is replaced with ready player one SEE THING YOU REMEMBER???? BUT CARTOON ACT LIKE REAL DEPRESSED PERSON XDDDDD

I guess this means that he'll show up in the third film or Knuckles Show then, might be the reason why he's even in the movie in the first place tbh.

And it wouldn't be too out there because of remarks of there're being a canon multiverse in the second film which was obviously meant to hint at Sonic Prime so it wouldn't be too out there but still a very MundaneMatt move.

Either way if we do get to see redesign Movie Sonic interacting with the old design one, I would still prefer MugiMikey's version of it.
He's fucking ded.jpg

Update: he doesn't seem to be licensed from Paramount or SEGA because neither of the companies supposably show up in the credits.

There's a theory that Old Movie Sonic is in the public domain but they probably won't stay that way for long if that is the case.

Either way find it funny how Disney who fucked up the copyright system, the ones who eat some studios so they can use their properties and all around very trigger happy when it comes to copyright.

Would be the ones to take another company's character out of the blue and make them not just a simple cameo.
