Sonic Movie Thread - From a Disastrous Teaser/Trailer to Not That Bad a Movie; Got a Sequel

I personally believe they need to make Silver and Blaze a different dimension's version of Sonic and Knuckles respectively where Eggman Nega actually succeeds in ruling the world which can explain why Silver is a more tryhard hero version of Sonic to contrast with Sonic being more laid back. This would basically mix the 06 and Rush canon with Blaze and drop the "I'm from the future" shit with Silver as I think parallel dimensions are easier to work with while keeping all of Silver's general character traits and the ideas that 06 tries to present without being mucked up by the other random shit in 06.

Marketing wise I think this might be enough to generate hype as you can use the combination of Silver and Blaze's fans.

As lazy as Eggman Nega is in the games, a more traditional evil straight man version of Eggman Nega with say a more out there Eggman like in the movies could be a nice mixture for comedy purposes while still making a viable threat, although with Jim Carrey supposedly wanting to retire that could be a problem to execute depending on who they get to replace him. You could even make this a two parter if you really tried if they really want to stretch out this whole cinematic universe thing, or even make a spin off movie based around Silver and Blaze to more properly introduce these characters instead of shotgunning them out there.

Blaze always struck me as multiverse Sonic anyway, so this works.

I always thought she was a multiverse Knuckles in the Rush canon (guardian of the Sol Emeralds, tries to be a loner, fights Sonic in rush, etc etc), and Silver to me is like a more serious hero take on Sonic due to him needing to be more serious while Sonic by comparison can afford to be more relaxed and carefree. This is before Knuckles was a complete punching bag and joke.

She definitely has elements of Knuckles, but what with her having an elemental affiliation (fire to Sonic's air), a sidekick with Marine (Tails) and direct opposition to an Eggman variant she's more Sonic 2.0 in my eyes.

God damnit Ken, I like some of your ideas but man are you a massive retard.

Yes, the backstory is pretty close to the origin of Master Emerald in Archie but once again it's just omage and is obviously not the same thing to anyone with a brain.

Chaos Knuckles also really could have been in the movie or in-universe but knowing Ken, if Knuckles even turned green once he would be threatening to sue Sega and Paramount again.

Last time the only reason he won was because of Sega and Archie's incompetence so hopefully if he goes for a real round two then they'll be more prepared this time around.

But I can't be too hash on him, after all he gave us a insight into the Knuckles Series if they kept the original movie Sonic design.

It’s going to be like the movie issue about the same plot again. This happens before in the past prime example look at flight 93 and United 93. One was a made for TV movie the other was a high budget movie in theaters. I’m going to let you decide which one was which. Overall Ken is a huge idiot sooner or later is going to snap.

I'm thinking that's gonna be the fourth movie. He gets so sick of dealing with inferior fleshy hedgehogs he builds his own "ultimate lifeform".
 
I would love to see Perfect Chaos in a movie at some point. That would be a hell of a battle to see on the bug screen.

Also like to see Vector and Mighty the Armadillo make an appearance, even if its only briefly as background characters.

And on that note:
Unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see Big the Cat make a cameo, even if it's brief. Bonus points if they get Christopher Walken to voice him.

Vector, Charmy and Espio are actually in the prequel comic for the second movie, they're on the Casino Night world where Knuckles winds up and gets forced to compete in this weird gladiator thing. No sign of Mighty, sadly.

Yeah, don't really find it that big of a deal tbh, it felt like Ian forgot this wasn't for the IDW Sonic comic universe.

Mainly because of their designs being just the Modern ones and all the mobian characters, it feels kind a like this might be set up for Sonic Prime alongside Robotnik's whole "taking over the multiverse" line.

Anyways on the closing topic of animal characters, it seems that everything outside of the games will always end up making straight-up furry characters at some point.

I hope he sues and Sega breaks him financially. His fanfictions sucked anyway given his career died the moment he couldn't rely on an IP filled with devoted autists to prop himself up.
