I hope he sues and Sega breaks him financially. His fanfictions sucked anyway given his career died the moment he couldn't rely on an IP filled with devoted autists to prop himself up.

Nintendo muppet Arlo put out a nearly hour long video explaining that he did not like the film. The video is nitpicky and meandering and probably wrong in a few places, but the sheer volume of salt in the comments is nice. Sonic autists screeching about every missed detail, lots of people saying things like "I'm just happy we're getting anything at all", "You just have to turn your brain off", "Let people enjoy things" and so on. Like/Dislike ratio is currently at about 50% according to the extension I've got on. Personally it just warms my cold black heart when Arlo hates things, and I really hope he isn't bullied into deleting this and apologizing or anything gay like that. We need to also let people not enjoy things.

I was gonna say, I don’t remember what it was exactly, but he had a really bad take a while back that turned a lot of people against him, and it looks like he’s continued to do so.

The main thing I take issue with is how strongly the movie affected Arlo. If the movie made him that upset, then he’s probably only seen, like, seven movies. I’m sure this will get even more autistic when the Mario movie comes out

I was gonna say, I don’t remember what it was exactly, but he had a really bad take a while back that turned a lot of people against him, and it looks like he’s continued to do so.

I took a minute to run down the thread and while yeah he had some genuine stuff in there like pacing etc. (which I agree with for the most part) he also throws in comments like the people who worked on the movies not loving the games. That's probably why people are angry more than just a sacred cow being criticized.

The comparison to Detective Pikachu is interesting in that it highlights to me how comparatively narrow Pokemon lore is to Sonic lore. What I mean by that is Sonic has a shitload of different timelines and backstories given how loosey goosey Sega was with the property for its first ten years. The Pokémon Company has been more rigid by that standard. Having not seen the movie, what audiences are saying leads me to think that the filmmakers really leaned into the Sonic culture, which is inherently very fucking weird and random because that’s what the property is. Is Arlo expecting the franchise to be treated with more gravitas?

Probably, in which case he may like the third film more given it's progressing past the Genesis-era stuff where story was pretty thin to say the least.

Another reason why I can see why this video is trending for all the wrong reasons (at least from Arlo’s perspective), is that he is admittedly not a fan of the franchise and is speaking as if he knows what fans would want. That being said, it wouldn’t shock me if he’s getting some deranged responses.

I think they'll still keep it, but I wonder if to avoid cries of censorship from the usual suspects, they'll have to shoot scenes and render her in low or side angles to avoid shots of cleavage, or cover the cleavage window with reflective material. It's gonna be interesting to see.
