Mentioned to a friend that I haven’t bought a newer console for vidya in years. I received a (surprise) Switch 2 in the mail this weekend. It was really a nice surprise, sometimes people just do nice things for others, out of the blue. I still haven’t set it up, nor do I have any games for it, but I’m really happy to have gotten it. I’ll be trying it out soon. It’s like I’m being dragged out of the dark ages & it’s kind of nice.

Okay, but like how was your Weekend, @Null?

Sad here. My Parents' little Dog died. They adopted him as a special needs Rescue because he was deaf and almost blind and couldn't move one leg and needed a fuck tonne of expensive Medication every Day after spending around 10 years trapped in a tiny wire cage he couldn't move much in a horrific situation. He was the raggediest, messed up little money pit of a Dude, and the animal cruelty Officers and Animalshelter were so happy and surprised when someone wanted to adopt him. The veteran Humane Officer who rescued him even came to see him when my Folks picked him up to bring him Home and just shook his head and said he came from a ,,nightmare'' situation. So you know that Shit was bad.
He lived an entire year longer than expected and learned things like what Sunlight and Grass and a fresh Breeze feels like, that you don't have to drink water until you vomit every single time you notice a Waterdish because there's always going to be some for you, how to happy hop and spin and do a weird tardy run at meal Times, and most importantly he learned what cuddles and snuggles were. He was a badass little man, and became a little bit of a local celebrity, and we're going to miss him a lot.

So that's been really sad, but also happy in it's way because it's a real joy and treasure to get to show a Dog what ,the good Life' is, and watch him discover being loved.
Sempre Fi you adorable, shaggy, gimpy little Scheisswerk. See you later, Space Cowboy. :semperfidelis:

My best friend came back after his month-long sabbatical to the north, so we hung out last night, got sloppy drunk, and we're gonna do it again tonight when House of the Dragon premiers. Currently watching: The Wire, The White Lotus, playing Mario Kart & Age of Calamity and calling each other niggerfaggot very, very loudly.

You never really know just how much human connection means to you until you're deprived of it for long enough.

Can't complain. Yesterday, in the morning I put together some new gym equipment for my garage gym. Then The Spicey family went to a bookstore, picked up meat at the butcher, then got some cookies for the kids.

Today we chilled at home for daddy day and the grandparents came over for a bit. Then I cooked and packed lunches for Mr.Spicey for the week.

I don't post here much anymore, and it's not the site's fault. This place has a special place in my heart, but I've grown into a different stage of life and don't connect with it the way I once did. That doesn't take away from what it meant to me. I'll always remember my time here fondly, regardless of where the site goes in the future. This weekend was surprisingly deep and introspective for me, and it made me realize how much I've changed since I first started coming here. Even so, this place still scratches an itch that almost nowhere else can. It has the same kind of energy as a mid 2000s Call of Duty lobby, and for that I'll always respect it.

Pretty good. The weather was lovely all weekend, I was able to keep the windows open, cooked Polish food for friends (we rotate who cooks when we're meeting on Saturday, usually some dish from our ancestors' countries) and drank beer and Krupnik around a fire out back. I called my father today, he was really happy with the gift I sent him. Currently I'm relaxing on my couch. Nothing to complain about.
