I really hate that this exists even among less retarded right wingers. I watched a YT video about why western men are so drawn to Eastern Orthodox churches. The usually normal hosts immediately started with, “well, if I’m a straight cis man why would I want to be involved in a church that’s all about women and gays?!”
I think many Western churches are compromised by having adopted idpol, but it isn’t reasonable to lump half of the population in with gays and troons. They never asked themselves the obvious question, why would a woman want a church that’s only about men?

What blows my mind about this is there are countless examples of women being absolute units in the Bible. There's a whole book about a woman who chops a guy's head off (Judith). I get that it's very male-centric but how can you read something like the Book of Judith and go "yeah, women are stupid"?

Indeed. I think a more reasonable answer to the question of why relatively reasonable people are attracted to traditional religious communities is that they have roles for men and women.

It's because the incel-types think that they'll find the magical chaste and pure woman of their dreams. I've seen a lot of them rage and leave the church once they figure out that, coincidentally, chastity until marriage also applies to them and women of the faith typically aren't looking for newfag spergs or really a relationship in general.

I have some Eastern Orthodox friends, all recent converts (within past 5 years), and they all joined the church for political reasons (didn't stop meeting or modify communion during COVID, for example). They have been talking about how the number of Eastern Orthodox churches is growing and I refrained from telling them that it's mostly due to trad larpers who just don't like that modern churches are less misogynistic than they used to be.

I often wonder what these people would do in an actual marriage, when their wife got pregnant? I mean, they hate women for not wanting to fuck, so how would they deal with pregnancy, and babies wailing at night, and toddlers in bed and all that?
Do they sing hymns in church? I couldn't imagine church without, tbh.

What gets me is that they can't even do it from a purely logical standpoint.
They genuinely cannot comprehend how women can have a distrust towards men even though women have predominantly been treated like shit by them for millennia.
There's also Lydia who was a highly successful businesswoman, Jael who killed a general by nailing a peg into his head, Deborah who was a judge, and literally ran into battle to help save her people, and Esther who stopped an actual genocide.
Yeah, the bible's still incredibly misogynistic, but it's not like women did jack-fuck-all in it.

I've always thought the women in the Bible came off much better than the men, usually more wise, clever, and moral, both Old Testament and especially New. Even in the Old Testament, wisdom is personified as female.

Living in a country where about 92% of the population is nominally orthodox, I've racked up some pretty funny stories from personal experiences and ones I've heard from others. One friend who went through a revival of his own faith and started meeting girls who were specifically ultra-orthodox (note, he was never an incel or had problems of the sort, he simply had other things going on that made him turn to God I guess) eventually stopped trying to deal with them because of meeting girls who wouldn't wash down there because it was shameful, having to deal with family members who would shit their pants because of one of his parents being Catholic, insane things like that. Personally, I was turned down for a tutoring role because I am not Orthodox, I've been bitched at for doing yard work and laundry on Sunday and son.
Notably, none of these types would ever give american trad e-converts the time of day, and among the more intelligent cohort of orthodox people I know, I can't think of a single one who doesn't viscerally hate these types for making an online mockery of their beliefs.
Incel e-trads don't have the faintest idea what Orthodoxy truly is, which is perfect for them since they can fill that knowledge void with their wildest hopes and delusions.
Also, in some aspects despite overall being just as mysoginistic as just about any other religion that didn't pop up in the past 200 years, funnily enough Orthodoxy is far more considerate to women than they'd believe. For example, many Orthodox priests will give dispensations on fasting/meat abstention etc to pregnant or post-partum women, and have done so for centuries.
