Defnitely. I find it very peculiar how they just bailed out. It's possible they realized shit was about to get serious if people were checking out the cabin and got scared, especially the other two folks who probably didn't want to get trolled by 4chan like Shia.

It was a loss to begin with. What was there to win? It didn't make any meaningful statement, nobody gave a shit and nothing was at risk. HWNDU was interesting because Shia put its success at the mercy of the general public and it ultimately resulted in far more cultural value than his original intentions. If the cabin stunt didn't predate HWNDU, I'd have called it an admission of defeat because then it would've just been Shia crawling into his hidey-hole to lick his wounds and curse the trolls from where he couldn't be hurt.
