I am usually not one for darker and edgier outside warhammer 40k, but damn, this is just done so well. They did a great job with the reboot and it calls back to the robot gore.

And here I was wondering why my torrent site didn't have the latest episode.

Tonight's ep was pretty funny. Some really good animation and I think it was a nice comedic break from the rather dark last three episodes. I think Jack and Ashi work well off each other.

In other news, Tumblr is consistently screeching at anyone who wants the relationship to turn out romantic. I hope it does, if only to make them all lose their collective minds.

The next episode preview has what looks like spartans in tanks attacking Aku's castle and the return of the Scotsman.

The Scotsman.

This ep was intense but a bit more nice compared to the past three episodes. Jack was smiling a lot more, cool to see happy Jack again at the end after him being miserable so much so far.

I'm kinda worried the Scotsman will get killed by Aku, though. I really hope he survives long enough to meet Jack again...

"I love the back fur."

Jack was such a lovable dork in the episode. After all the shit he's been through this season, it's good to see him joke around.

I mean it could swing either way. Tumblr wants Jack to have some kind of dad-esque mentoring relationship with her, while also claiming Ashi is a teenager (...but is she? I thought she and the other Daughters of Aku were like, just short of Jack's ageless state of 25 after all their training), but the one rebellious survivor in the bunch falling in love with the thing she was programmed to hate and Jack having something to live for if he can't get back home is poetic as fuck. We'll all just have to wait and see.

Called it the moment I saw her drifting away from the other Daughters in the first episode, though, she was going to be the *special* one.

BRING ON THE SCOTSMAN THOUGH, I'VE MISSED THAT BLATHERING STUFFED SHEEP'S STOMACH.

rip scotsman and jack's hat, you will never be forgotten.

In all seriousness, I'm glad they made that callback to the special properties of the Scotsman's sword. Also, the relationship between Jack and Aishi, however it ultimately plays out, is adorable. They play off each other perfectly... too bad Jack may have gone off to commit seppuku.

Probably rambling here, but I love how the guy torturing Aishi turned out to be a human. Nice meta twist. /SPOILER]

Kind of sad the Scotsman killed. I thought he'd have more tangible part in the series. Obstinate to the very end...
