I don't think anyone here is very eager to take you at your word after how badly you fucked up what was undoubtedly your best chance at airing your side. Unpopular opinion but I kind of agree. However, Sam was also kind of fucked up in the head back then. If she got worse MDE, and he clearly got better, the relationship would actually make sense and definitely wouldn't be abusive by default or any crazy shit like that.
