Sam is a 40 year old man, in 2012 ~ 13 he was somewhat immersed in the internet culture of that era, it's not the case anymore, Sam's not browsing 4chan or KiwiFarms to see what's going on that could be a funny to talk about, that's why so much of his content is just him regurgitating ideas from a difference place in time. Politically he tip toes from early 2000's neocon talking points and mid 2010's "anti-woke", "pro-Trump" debate - mostly shit he read on 4chan back when he used to be online.
In terms of his comedy i think there was a constant evolution up until 2015, after the show got cancelled then comedy took a backseat to the self-help bullshit.
This is the type of shit i like about this thread, Talking about Sam in a non schizo way (pretty hard tbh)

I can't see Sam putting the fries in the bag, but he could always go back to selling cars. He's actually pretty charismatic when he isn't sperging about jews and seed oils.
Sam is very charismatic. He should go into politics. President Sam Hyde, Vice President Jet Neptune?
Would our country thrive or turn into fishtank season 4?!

If he gets into actual politics, which I hope to god he isn't stupid enough to try at, Sam's campaign will crash and burn. Then he'll take the money and run and blame the jews for it all.

I really hope that isn't Sam's endgame, because we all know how that'll turn out.

The issue with Sam is that he needs to pick a fucking lane.

In a saner world, I feel like Sam would be a world-class cinematographer working in Hollywood or something. He’s genuinely pretty insightful about film, art, aesthetics, beauty etc. He can also be very funny sometimes, but not in a traditional stand-up comedian setting. In another, less crazy version of reality, people would be less politically insane, World Peace wouldn’t have been cancelled, and Sam’s career would’ve branched out from there.

But since we’re not in that sane world, MDE got cancelled and Sam has spent the last decade picking up the pieces and rallied to a pretty inspiring comeback story. But the flip side to that, is that there is also a revenge/vendetta aspect to this. Does Sam actually want to have a real (mainstream-ish) career at this point? Would he really want to work in an industry he obviously views as ideologically captured and openly hostile to him?

If not, what’s his endgame here? Is this ultimately some kind of suicide mission? He can’t have it both ways: being both a comedian with some mainstream visibility and be Mr. Based-and-Redpilled unironic Jew-Naming-/pol/tard incarnate. My guess is that Sam thinks he’s on an epic mission to troll mainstream comedy and influence culture at large, but the Harland interview showed that he really can’t take the heat and it ultimately made him come off a like a terminally-online sperg in the worst possible way.

On the one hand, I wouldn’t want Sam to censor himself just to fit in, but him going the other route and trying to be some type of hard-right political pundit and hanging out with people like Fuentes is incredibly gay and lame. It’s also incredibly irresponsible for the reputations and careers of the people around him.

I concur with other people in the thread: Sam needs to lay off the roids and stop taking himself so seriously, lest he wind up being a cautionary tale like some kind of mirror universe Idubbbz.

I think that`s one of my biggest gripes with his output since 2015 onward. It`s so... joyless?
Since then we`ve seen their lowest point, their resurgence and new heights of popularity. But I think we lost something along the way.
MDE, to me, used to be a couple of guys in their twenties/thirties that despised the other normies in their age bracket or older. And society as a whole.
It was never about a grand plan or change, just some guys pouring their genuine hatred into their comedy. And having a laugh while they did it. It was fresh and energetic. And the aesthetic, editing and music choices reflected that.
Now it feels so tired. Sam`s transition from a satirist to a guru was not a smooth or necessary one.
And as Nigger Cattle pointed out, he`s out of touch.
Am I glad that they`re still around, more relevant than ever, financially successful and stable? Of course.
But I think recent events should serve as a wake up call, and a cause to reflect on what they are and what they`re trying to be.

What’s with the repeated false notion that Sam wants to be a guru or advice guy? He doesn’t. Just because the topic of self help and motivational techniques comes up during conversation and they talk about it doesn’t make it the focus of it.

Does everyone just forget that prior to WP cancellation there was essentially only one form of output for MDE - the sketches. They barely interacted with fans or spoke candidly about themselves. You really can’t compare the output this way at all

He’s repeatedly said his goal is to always be working on creative projects and when not working on projects be planning for the next one.

You people really need to go outside if you seriously think that Goddamn podcast appearance is some sort of “turning point.” You keep putting a massive amount of weight on someone they very clearly had fun on and were making fun of everyone who brayed “MDE is finished”

Your Rhode Island IP address is showing, buddy. Telling someone that they need to go outside when you and 3 other people are here all day running PR for Sam, lmao.
Sneedifarms got thread banned and he's still around to give the "big ol' thombs down" on anyone talking shit about Sam, which is funny to me, ngl.

I am happy to see, however, that most people here are reasonable and they can acknowledge the good and the bad stuff. I haven't see proper A-Log behavior here, just people that used to be fans of early MDE and dislike that the content is not funny anymore. Matter of fact, most of the content is not even comedy anymore.

If not, what’s his endgame here? Is this ultimately some kind of suicide mission? He can’t have it both ways: being both a comedian with some mainstream visibility and be Mr. Based-and-Redpilled unironic Jew-Naming-/pol/tard incarnate.
Sam has always been like, to be fair. He was in talks with Adult Swim for a long time before WP was greenlit, and he was still doing shit that could jeopardize the production of a future show, like openly supporting neo-nazis, like openly talking about the jews on Twitter etc.

Sam's problem is that he refuses to be the "obedient goy", the "sell-out", he wants people to think he is the coolest monkey (or gorilla) in the jungle, and that's so fucking retarded. If any of you have had to grind to get to a decent position in life, if any of you ever had to study hours upon hours for months on end to get somewhere (and i'm not talking about going to college or just passively listening to teachers, i'm talking about you sitting down with a book, paper and pencil and studying on your own when you're not even in college or anything like that), you would know how hard life can be, you would sell out immediately if someone was interested enough to buy your shit, it's self preservation.
Sam lacks that self-preservation instinct because he always had a decent safety net, if everything went wrong he could call his dad and ask him for a job, he knew that his dad had a decent inheratance to leave him. In short, he knew he would never be in the street sucking dick for cash.

It's still admirable that he didn't become some type of a junkie or just the average drug addict, i'll be quite honest. People in his position, artsy people with rich parents, usually are more about the "lifestyle" (fucking bpd whores, drinking, doing drugs) than about making art, from what i can gather the only thing he liked from that lifestyle was fucking BPD whores.
There are countless people who come from a much more affluent background and don't do shit because they get lost in the sauce. I was watching this girl called Chloe LaBranche that's been doing comedy for idk how long, her dad is LITERALLY a BIILIONAIRE with a B and she's a nobody because she got into that lifestyle and became an alcoholic and pill addict, so i can give Sam that, he didn't get lost in the sauce and steadily produced content even after WP got cancelled.
His anti-alcohol and anti-drug stance is one point i can say i support wholeheartedly, if you're into drugs and alcohol you're a silly billy.

Yeah nah i don't think it was that.
Maybe some type of bait for normies like the MLP shit? Maybe they released something without telling the fans to later make content talking about that project and how people were reacting to it?
It's the only thing i can think of, some type of hoax, nothing under the MDE or Sam Hyde name wouldn't not be noticed by fans.

Yeah i was thinking maybe those dubbed spanish videos they did a while ago... but what you say makes more sense.
Maybe the supplements? Or something to do with Zipp?
I think Zipp is it's own thing now, i think Bicflame don't wanna be that associated with MDE/Fishtank anymore.

The supplements are supposed to be flavor text essentially for the Sam Hyde Show and Zipp is still going managed by Bic.

It was possibly unreleased Tales of Wape animations which are made by old newgrounds animators that they commissioned, only thing I can think of that might get like 15 views, especially if its uploaded on just newgrounds.

What was the name of the animator dude again?

They showed one on Legion of Skanks but they said they hired like 10 or something animators to all do animations, I don't remember the guy who made Peeing Michael.
That shit was just for soliciting for animators. Sam recorded the one take peeing michael shit and sent it to different animators as a test to demonstrate their styles. It's how they ended up working with the Sick Animations guy (who does amazing work).
It's Sick Animations. But i didn't find anything to do with Sam/MDE.
