Yeah cirrhosis is basically the liver getting super scarred up and one of the effects of that is it causes something called portal hypertension, which is high blood pressure in the vein that runs through your liver and others connected to it, one big area affected is the throat. The veins there begin to bulge from the pressure and can be easily irritated leading them to burst. So frequent vomiting (like an alcoholic might experience from excessive drinking or chronic hangovers) will exasperate this issue quickly. People this happens to can bleed to death if it isn't gotten under control.
This issue will make itself known pretty much as soon as it starts with nausea from the blood in your stomach, black stool from the blood passing through your digestive system, or the most obvious, vomiting blood.
This could have been an ongoing issue that just got worse for him, or more of a burst damn situation which is what happened to the person I know. The person I know was taken to the hospital, put in a coma in the ICU and given multiple blood transfusions for like a month and a half. Surgeons put bands on the areas bleeding in his throat and basically said its in God's hands if the bleeding stops or not.
If that's the type of situation randbot was in, if he doesn't take this seriously and quit drinking he won't be lasting much longer.
