Yesterday, a curious chain of events unfolded regarding the Rape Gang Inquiry (the private one set up by Lowe and funded through donations).

In the morning, the BBC reported that Lowe was under investigation by the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for failing to declare the donations for this inquiry within the 28-day window.


Lowe and the inquiry responded in public very quickly, asserting that the crowdfunded money was transferred to the inquiry on the 23rd June, which would mean that Rupert had until the 20th July to declare it.


In the afternoon, the investigation was closed with no action taken.


After the investigation was closed, Lowe went on the offensive, asserting that the details of the investigation were leaked to the BBC by the complainant, who would have been the only other person to know exactly what the investigation was into. The Commissioner does not give detail on investigations whilst they are ongoing. Rupert stated that the complainant has 'a clear and evidenced connection to Reform', and suggested that they had leaked the investigation's details to the BBC at the behest of that party. Considering their past behaviour towards Lowe, this would be a reasonable conclusion even without knowing who the complainant was.


You would have thought that Reform would have learned not to bring knives to gun fights following their hamfisted attempt at sinking Rupert earlier this year. Perhaps their success at turfing out McMurdock went to their heads and they felt it was worth another go. Clearly, the only way to bring them to heel will be through litigation.

I warned people about Farage. I know I keep smashing this bell, but even while I'm considering a vote for reform, I am fully aware that he's likely going to crash and burn the party - and any hope of actual political reform - well before that vote has to be cast. He's doing everything he can to destroy any potential competition beforehand.

So Reform leadership actively working against a grooming gang inquiry?

I could believe that, sadly. They might want it done, but not at the cost of someone else getting the credit for it.
 
Farage is only loyal to himself. He will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory just to make sure he won't have to share any spoils.
 
I have a conspiracy theory of my own re: McMurdock. The tl;dr is that McMurdock was shanked to get Yusuf in.

As you may have seen, he resigned the Reform whip a week ago in advance of the publication of a story in the Sunday Times which alleged that one of his businesses took out a Covid loan fraudulently. A couple of days afterwards, he put out a statement that, after receiving legal advice on the allegations, he would not be retaking the Reform whip and will sit for the rest of this parliament as an independent MP (which of course assumes that he will not be prosecuted and convicted of fraud in relation to the allegations).

It is no secret that he is quite close personally to Lowe - he volunteered to help with the Rape Gang Inquiry, and after he announced that he was leaving Reform's parliamentary group Rupert put out a Xeet in support of James. He has since also signed Lowe's early day motion advocating for the removal of all illegal immigrants.

I did posit earlier in this thread that when McMurdock agreed to help the Inquiry he was marking his own card with Farage, and it would not surprise me at all if the Sunday Times was tipped off by someone in Reform (possibly Anderson) trying to unseat McMurdock.

The theory I hold is this - Reform are trying to trigger a by-election in that specific seat for a specific candidate to run. McMurdock was not 'supposed' to win; his local campaign received virtually no helpas the focus was on the other 4 seats they did win. He won in spite of this because that part of south Essex was very UKIPpy and is now very Reformy, to the extent where they could now stick the rosette on just about anyone and win.

The candidate they have in mind is Zia Yusuf. There were a couple of stories floating around after he returned to Reform saying that the intent was now to get him into parliament and that he would be the party's candidate at the next winnable by-election. But they can't stick him in just any seat - there is a significant minority of Reform's voter base who will not vote for a foreign moslem (for good reason). If he were the candidate in Runcorn, he would have lost. If he were the candidate in any seat where Reform are marginal favourites, he would lose. The only way he will win is if he stands in a seat where Reform's floor is 35%, which isn't many. South Basildon & East Thurrock is one of those seats.
 
From a foreign perspective it really does feel like the movie threads gave a much more optimistic outlook of the future on the island. Am I correct in saying that despite a nearly impenetrable 2 party system like the US and a rock hard uniparty several times upstart populist parties manage to gain actual ground before immediately falling to internal discord and getting ripped apart by serial grifters?
 

Nigel is back to his old trick of only showing up to Parliament to trigger the libs own the libs. Problem is this Parliament is a Labour parliament; there only 76 Liberal Democrats to trigger. He has yet to face the music back at Clacton-on-Sea you know the people who elected him who expect him to you know do his job. Same shit he did at the EU Parliament only showed up for the video clips and the Euros.

Guys I know it was funny calling that Belgium a pretend country and hanging out with his boyfriend Trump was fun and I'm sure he was a great bottom. But 2016 is over it's 2025 Britain is a shithole country. America has just as many Mexicans coming in as it did in 2024. The number of Mexicans etc. in the country is the same the numbers being deported for all the show and all the cost are making no difference.

Oh CON and LAB have both melted down a couple times in the last few decades as well, it's just that people continue voting for them since it's what they have always done (particularly the older generation.)

Everyone has their knives out. It makes UK politics entertaining.
 
A few events from the past month;

William Clouston, the leader of the SDP, has joined the advisory board of Restore Britain.



Reform's strike rate in attempting to defenestrate their own former MPs remains at 0.000, as James McMurdock has been cleared of wrongdoing by IPSA. He asserts that there are no other ongoing investigations, so there is no prospect of any by-election being forced. Better luck next time, Yusuf.



Tommy Robinson has signed up as a member of Advance UK. The group's membership swelled as a result to over 22,000 last week. Habib's target of 30,000 is now in sight and it looks likely that the group will be registered as a political party.



The Homeland Party appears to be disintegrating after a number of prominent members (including the man who organised the original Epping hotel protests) signed a letter calling on the chairman to resign after several instances of dubious behaviour (starting with the twink in Northern Ireland) and then walking out when the party responded by attacking them instead.

 
Certain corners of the internet have gotten very excited over a piece of polling done by Find Out Now, wherein they asked their sample pool how they would vote if a party led by Rupert Lowe was amongst the options. 10% say that they would vote for such a party, versus Reform on 25%, the Greens on 18%, Labour 16%, Tories 13% and the Lib Dems also on 13%.


10% for a party led by someone who had virtually no public profile 18 months ago and who has had very little exposure in the mainstream media would be impressive. There are of course a couple of caveats - Find Out Now as a pollster appear to be especially insurgent-friendly, showing the best scores on average from any pollster for both Reform and the Greens. And there is the more general point that hypothetical polling almost always advantages the hypothetical element of such polling, and that should the hypothesis become real, their actual performance never quite matches up. This is likely because the voters surveyed, if they are interested in such a party, tend to picture that party exactly as they want it to be and are obviously much more excited about such an entity, whereas in reality that party is not going to be exactly as they want.

But, nonetheless, an opportunity may exist.

Following the poll comes the party - Rupert has applied to register 'Great Yarmouth First', and intends to contest every seat within the constituency at next year's council elections. At the same time, more polling was published, showing that if Lowe stood as a GYF candidate at the next election, he would win 44% of the vote. The same caveats apply as they did to last week's poll, but the margin is substantial (Labour in 2nd on 17%) and therefore it is probably safe to assume that if Rupert chooses to defend his seat he will be successful in doing so.

 
Rupert has now arrived at the conclusion that he needs to start a new party.


The main promises are to field a slate of GE candidates who have no political history, to work with aligned localist parties in council elections, to detain and deport all migrants who came here without permission and to create a hostile environment for all other migrants who are parasiting off of the state or are refusing to integrate by outlawing several of their most common practices, including first cousin marriage, the wearing of the burka, and both kosher and halal slaughter.

Labour will attempt to draw things out as long as possible before the next GE because they know they'll lose huge numbers of seats when it happens. Unless Starmer is so disastrous that the Labour backbenches are willing to take the hit just to get rid of him. I suppose there's some logic to stabbing yourself in the arm now to head off stabbing yourself in the chest later, given Labour under Starmer are just going to get more and more hated over time.

Still though, a GE is likely some way off which means Rupert Lowe has time to try and establish the new party. He may seem an outsider but... he's bringing justice to the grooming gang victims which is more than anyone else cares to do, he's not playing the "Broad Tent" politics Farage is (aka sell out to a bunch of Boris establishment defectors and ex-Tory campaign managers) and is, well, frankly better. He doesn't need to win a majority, just get some people in - that keeps the pressure on for restricting mass immigration, dealing with Islam and nailing the Overton Window to the Right.
