Ehhh, this is actually the least shocking thing coming out from Roblox. I've seen people make games about Erik Cassel after his death, like "ErikCasselRapesKids".

There a more concurrent users on Roblox than there are on Steam as a whole. I find this absolutely mind-boggling.

It's the third world, I'm so fucking sure of it. ROBLOX is playable on cheap ass mobile devices, is free to sign up and play on and puts a ton of crap into localization into nearly any language you can think of. Seriously try to find ROBLOX playerbases for just about any weird part of the world you can think of and they're there and making youtube videos and crap. The amount of thirdies on ROBLOX these days probably seriously matches or exceeds the first worlders. Anyone who played the game back in the golden and silver ages knows that such a thing was unthinkable back then, with their main exposure to any foreign language users being mexicans writing in spanish. The game didn't even support writing in different scripts back then because the font couldn't render it. There are people playing Doors in Japanese. I would give a third world example but I don't even know what languages some of the scripts I've seen even belong to. I should've probably seen this coming once I heard about Luobu (Chinese special edition of ROBLOX)

As a third worlder I can sadly second that indeed most kids nowadays play Roblox or at least are fully aware of the game, I don't really know when or how it happened but it suddenly became super popular a couple of years later and at this point it's completely established, which is funny taking into account that when I first found about the game and got into it when I was young (around 10+ years ago) no one else knew it, of anything I introduced the game to a couple of my friends.

Now, how did it suddenly become so popular and a game everyone knows ? I would argue smartphones and YouTubers, the reality is that most people from my generation didn't use the net all that much when they were kids (I was the weirdo in that regard), it wasn't particularly massified and most at best had some old family computer, not only that but there as pretty much no information of the game in other languages, therefore it remained obscure, but now with the introduction of cheap smartphones and extremely cheap access to the internet anyone and everyone is online, this include kids, so these kids go to the play store and see the game front and center, or maybe instead they see it on YouTube as the slope makers are grinding Roblox hard everyday.

That's how I explain the current situation at least.

So how are we feeling about the new community forums for groups? Roblox is 3 months away from fully phasing out the Wall feature that groups use to have since 2009 with "forums".

Currently, any group that hasn't implemented it has this notice above the original wall:

You are still currently able to post on the wall until that fabled month. Walls in groups that currently have the feature enable have this notice instead, saying that the Wall is now read-only and tells you to go the forums instead:

It won't do anything, and if it's anything like the forums of the past, it would get taken over by spammers and trolls lmao. Besides that, they find it much easier to move to somewhere like discord where 90% of the grooming problems happen. That entire messaging app is a plague.

Damn I'm retarded, that was already here. just search Thunder Scientific Corporation in this thread. the Archived situation was that a ex TSF member named Corepsu, a dev for archived, wiped (slang for killing someone in a perma death game) people in archived. These people were mad and found the doc and posted it. They were part of a lore office (dumb roleplay stuff) so they were trusted. The doc showed that Corepsu was a artist that drew artwork for them, though Corepsu defended himself with a claim the doc was 3 years old (it was posted here on March 13, 2024) so he would have been 15 at the time. which meant he was most likely a victim of them, And that he has since left the group. I think he is still a furry artist though. Very sorry for the misinfo

This won't solve it. The solution is for Roblox to take action on reports and ban them once reported.

As flawed as the EU's Digital Services Act is, it made Roblox a lot safer. Under the law, large social media companies like Roblox are required to read and respond to reports of illegal activity on their site via the DSA report form. Roblox is a kid's game with no 18+ filter, meaning all sexual content on the site is illegal. Since the law was passed, over a quarter of the ERP accounts I've been tracking have been taken down thanks to EU kids reporting them. Sadly Roblox decided this reporting channel should be region locked so it's only accessible where it's legally required to be.

If the US passed a standalone bill requiring social media mega corps to treat reports of illegal content the same way, the ERP problem would be a fraction of the size it is now. Knowing congress, though, they'd probably inject a ton of bloat like they did with KOSA so it's unlikely something like that would ever pass.

This sound developer for Item Asylum is a member of a group called "chub legion" (you can probably see where this one's going) formerly owned by another Sammy. This group has an icon which when reverse image searched showed multiple results of inflation pornography.
