Isn't PirateBay undesirable nowadays? What I understand is that due to its extreme popularity, retards will go to it, making it a prime choice for putting in malware.
I don't know and I'm unsure, I barely torrent at all outside of anime.
As long as you don't click on linkin_park.exe when getting your criterion remux, it's fine I guess. But, yeah, I haven't really used it much recently.

If you practice prudence in selecting torrents and use a VPN you should be fine. Don't click on some sketchy shit.

That goes for any torrent site.

Just as a heads up don't post functional torrent/rom sites on the open portions of this website you want to post them and the supporters board just because it'll keep the faggotry to a minimum vimms lair, a popular video game rom site, was 100% a casualty of people posting its URL here

I was stopping and thinking: "private tags?", for a moment but I don't think anything posted here - so far - warrants it. And that TGx onion is ded anyway.

Yeah they probably are just closing that onion because it got too popular and noting that people should stop sharing it as freely.

I'm not trying to scaredy post I'm just noting that I watched one of my favorite rom sites run into legal issues after I started seeing it get posted here.

Both Sony and Nintendo double teamed them at the same time: that's not a coincidence.

The farms are defo datamined for warez links by ambulance dmca chasers. But I don't think it's more than scrapers looking for thread titles and first paragraphs, like @Null says, it's probably not even necessary to use private tags past the first page of a thread. Actual sock puppets going manual is spurious at best, I'd like to think.
But then, sometimes, guys like @PLEASEBANMYASS do make me second guess that, it's 2024 after all and everything is possible, so he might be sperging out over this for real and is filing DMCA complaints left and right. Out of spite or something - you never know.

Vimm's Lair was well-known and linked all around the web for decades just fine. You wanna know what really killed it? The horde of iToddlers, the moment they could run emulators on their shitty overpriced locked down smartphones thanks to the EU twisting Tim Cook's AIDS ridden nutsack into the right frequency, started passing the link to it left and right on TikTok, Facebook and every other modern blight on society to tell people where to find free Nintendo games for their phones.

That's what put way too much heat on Vimm's Lair and that's what led to it's demise. It was no longer less than a million of people globally knowing about it over the years, it was tens of millions of people learning about it in the span of days. Corporations couldn't give half a shit about some schmucks sharing links like that on Internet shitsmears like this forum or some Rentry paste that 0.1% of the global userbase will ever find and access.

tl;dr I hope Steve Jobs boils in the nastiest vat of excrement in the darkest depths of Gehenna for inventing the iPhone.

That's retarded. Maybe it popped up more often on KF as it became more widely know in general. The trannies didn't do this.

I second solidtorrents, it's a good place to find things that aren't the new hotness. Good place to find old movies and shows.

I don't use torrent sites, but it really does seem like the internet is becoming ever less functional and ever more empty.
web 2.0 was all about conning speculators into thinking the internet was a growing market so they would dump money into poogle, reddit, faceberg, etc. while it did grow, that growth came from niggercattle on they sail foams (thanks obama), ie people who were just there because it was trendy. web 3.0 is seeing decline in normalfaggots and niggers, leading to a minor resurgence in web 1.0 places that could weather the storm, but the type of people that made web 1.0 just either old, dead, or moving on, and the current white upper middle class, the group that built web 1.0, is smaller than ever and the internet is harder to penetrate than ever before thanks to seo, so there are less people with less money to get anywhere on the internet, in a world where it costs more to get started and maintain a website and its also harder than ever for anyone to even find your website.

Having seen the downfall and decline of proper archival services the continual attack on archive.org and the fact that Sony and Nintendo went after this domain simultaneously kind of points to someone that knows what they're doing and knows how to appropriately contact the people that would be willing to cause problems. It doesn't have to be a specific special interest group it just has to be someone that's willing to take the time to even file this stuff on behalf of the major corporations. It's not this site for what it is it's that it's anywhere in the open.

It doesn't always have to be about trannies: some bored autistic affliced with fanboyism and a Google alert can pull this off. It's "retarded" to ignore lol

You don't think heavy proliferation on something like Reddit might have made Sony and Nintendo take notice? Or on Twitter? Do you think Sony/Nintendo was completely unaware of the site before that? I mean, they're not retards, their people can use google.

A co-worker softmodded their Wii a year back but couldn't figure out where to get games. I recommended Vimm's Lair and showed it to her. One week later the site shut down. Maybe I was important enough to make Sony and Nintendo take action?

You know what? Good! I'm glad more and more of these illegal piracy sites are getting shut down these days. Support the authors, don't be a leeching nigger.
You are setting off my jewdar.

"you should only post "free shit" sites in a board for people who paid up at least 20 bux 😡😡😡"
The first I heard this was supposed to be something about decentralised or (de)federated platforms, like Plemora, Matrix, and xmpp. Then a bunch of "NFT bros" used it to try hyping up their monkey picture "network".
