TorrentGalaxy Spooks Users with More ‘Downtime’ (archive)
Popular torrent site TorrentGalaxy once again confuses users with a mysterious message. Instead of the usual list of downloads, it simply shows an image from the film Logan and the brief message "TG Forever". This is similar to a notice that appeared on the site a few weeks ago, after which it eventually resumed business as usual.
Could be another scare.

I don't use torrent sites, but it really does seem like the internet is becoming ever less functional and ever more empty.
Piracy has never been better and torrent sites are like hydras, you chop off one head and three more grow. Even today, torrents sure kick the shit out of KaZaA and convoluted IRC piracy channels.

I am always sorry to see them go.

Yet I don't use them as much as I would a decade ago. I just download the odd old game.

Most new games are shit, and most shows you can stream from a pirate streamer site, but those are shit too for the most part.

Nobody wants to download 4k episodes of Rangz of Puwwa.

Comprehensive.
I really like the YTS concept: I couldn't find a ~ 5-7 gb criterion collection rip of "The bride with white hair", only sub-SD, divx-looking ones, then I went to yts and yup, they had me covered, at least I can now watch it in somewhat acceptable quality and I like that they go with original audio and english subs for foreign movies by default.
I guess it's always been like old rarbg but with lower quality. But I really like the consistency in their encoding and their "corporate" design is neat.
Generally, for the bay, a good site to bookmark is this:

Anyone know a good site for general TV shows and movies? CineZone and FlixFlare went down. There is SFlix but it doesn't have a lot of old shit that was on those.
Yeah, for movies that was rarbg, they had tons of forever-seeding 2-3 gb rips of obscure classics. The rehosted trackers are missing the seeds of those now.
The wider catalogs is fine but, as stated above, for more obscrue ones, you now only get unwatchable shit rips like these.

YTS makes up the bulk of the movies in my Archive. There were times where I'd just sort by Genre and Decade then queue up almost every result. Did that for Westerns, Crime, Action, Film Noir, etc.

Agreed. There are literally websites now were you can download the most obscure stuff from filehosters without even bother torrenting. I can download games, shows, books and movies illegally faster than the time it would take me to setup legit accounts with providers, go through the shop process, and download/stream them. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet. Extreme contrast to what a PITA it used to be.
