In these days, where everything is trying to push us to the limit, there is a need for rest, where you need to get away from it all and rest to keep going with this shitty world. Just how to relax?

Everyone has their own ways to rest; from passive sleeping to doing physical activity. The possibilities are many, but the skill is to find something that gives the most enjoyment, along with regeneration. As I observe myself, I feel that lately I have been wasting this leisure time, where I sit all the time in front of the computer and nothing... which makes me tired when I get back to work, and when I'm tired I feel annoyed. That's why I try to look for something that will enable me to rest well. Currently I am trying to do various activities, such as trying to ride a bicycle, even though one is physically tired, this form of temporary effort helps mentally.

So I want to dedicate a thread where you can share ways of resting and sharing information on this topic; maybe someone will find something for themselves.

I have a near pathological inability to calm the fuck down and tend to work myself exhausted all the time, but I'm remembering the importance of taking time to just go for a walk on the beach or in the park. I used to run all the time but fell out of the habit, I went for a walk on the beach yesterday and it's like my mana or some shit was rejuvenated. It's amazing what touching grass will do.

I usualy make myself a cup of coffee and put on some music i like.

  • sleeping more than 6 hours
  • a good solid bowel movement
  • playing guitar
  • glass of very cold milk
I left out the most obvious one because this seems like a polite sort of thread

jerking off

I find magnesium supplements help for getting a restful sleep. Not sure why I am not getting enough via my diet 😕
Might be something with soil qualities because I avoid goyslop like it's AIDS
(because it is)

I find deep "belly" breathing with a slowed exhales to help with keeping calm

Four words: Naps solve every problem.

Even laying down for a little helps if you're someone that avoids sleep or works a lot.

You don't even have to sleep but just taking a micro nap can be nice and a good way to de-stress

A massage (if you're in a relationship) can be a free and nice way to unwind as well.
sex also works

If you don't live in podville, going outside is a great way to be /calm/.

Otherwise, soyentists suggest staying in enclosed spaces with your eyes glued to a monitor screen, displaying preferred troonslop.

Usually, but not always, if I'm on the Farms I'm in a relaxing posture. Either relaxing as I wind up to get going or as I wind down until I nod off and my phone slips from my hand. It's amazing the list of +Quotes I often wake up to the next day lol
The Farms are pretty relaxing though some content is best avoided at the end of the day depending on your temperament.

I feel like this throws off most peoples' sleep schedules too much. I recommend just unwinding for like 10 minutes.

If I remembered correctly, it either Jacobson's "Progressive muscle relaxation" or Schultz's "Autogenic training" (can't find the difference, because both of them fells the same). I have tried to do it, however, you need to find a good speaker, because in most situations, it's led by some hag.

A top shelf whiskey sour paired with a quality cigar is a damn good way to unwind. Also I highly recommend daycations. I like to go to the mountains by myself from time to time when i'm feeling stuck. Being in a new and beautiful place makes you feel much better.
