You think he's lolcow worthy to get his own Kiwi Farms thread?
While I've actually wanted that for years, he's too much of a grumpy bore that doesn't speak too much on his personal life so I doubt it. I did hate watch him for a bit years ago, and he would regularly have mental breakdowns on stream that he only gets viewers when he plays an RE and everything else gets tens of people. He holds complete contempt for his audience and he acts like a snippy cunt when they ask harmless questions to him because it's shit that he's been asked a thousand times. Get over it. He's got zero personality or charisma, maybe he should look into that. Just a dullard that bases his opinion on current thing. He's said in a round about way he's a fan of Hasan Piker, so that is indicative of what a profoundly retarded faggot he is.

I've been replaying Village, but I still can't make up my mind if I like it or not. Definitely has some great parts, but definitely some bad as well. I know every RE game has dumb plot elements, but the fact the entirety of this game only happens because Chris doesn't take 5 seconds to explain to Ethan feels like a step too far. Also still annoyed that Castle Dimitrescu, the best part of the game, turned out to be a bait and switch since none of the other 3 lords come close, and I've never understood why they kept hiding Ethan's face. Maybe a hot take but I much prefer that you now have the option for third person, but Mercenaries is a dud. Who at Capcom thought the factory, a maze that's too dark and where everything looks the same, would make a fun stage?

I liked VIIIage but I can’t see myself playing it ever again. There are too many interactive cutscenes and first-impression sequences and set pieces to imagine having fun a second time. On top of that, it’s pretty easy to see everything there is to see on a single play-through. The action makes me want to either just go back to RE4 or play an actual FPS instead. Good game, but glad I waited until it was significantly discounted years later.

I felt like the vampire stage could have been it's own thing.
Who gives a shit about the fishman, the doll lady, or even metallic kid rock? The castle was the most interesting bit.
Also I'm so thankful someone else acknowledges how shit the factory was. First time I played through it it was annoying because as you said, everything looks the same, but there are so many fucking treasures you can find, gem stones to shoot down from the ceilings, so much shit I thought there was gonna be a whole other level after because why would you give so much loot for the end game. I guess maybe for newgameplus but it just seemed dumb. Like in GTA IV and V when they give you a bajillion dollars but nothing to spend it on.

Feels like almost every RE game has to have a section which is terrible in terms of visual design - the sewers in 2&3, the ship in 7, factory in 8, getting the detonator parts in 9 etc, whilst the opening section is often the best.

Putting it in simple terms, Resident Evil is Applebee's.
The entree's are pretty tasty, but the main course leaves something to be desired.
I love the mozzarella sticks, but my burger is dry and sad. That is RE 7, 8, and 9
Though admittedly I do like Grace and hope they do more with her character in the future. Perhaps with less stuttering

Really does seem like they often 'blow their load' in the opening like 3-6 hours and after that it's just a downhill slide for the most part.

RE9 should have kept it as a first person survival horror from start to finish. Even if Grace was a stuttering retard.

The best parts of the last three mainline games were the Baker house in 7, the castle in 8/the basement with the deformed baby, and the wrenwood hotel/Rhodes Hill in 9. Then they went off the rails turning the rest of it into action slop.

Capcom said 7 was "too scary" then proceeded to cuck themselves since.

I don’t really play horror games anymore outside of Resident Evil, but: the genre is built on that curve where you go from terrified to becoming Ashley J. Williams, which RE likes to lean into.

The U-3 container maze, the Regenerators and the RE7 tanker from Hell are good examples of introducing new, unfamiliar scares. But those are few and far between.

Yep, almost all of them do this and it's fine, other series sometimes flip it and make the story progressively more hopeless even as your power increases, but most start you out like season 3 Bakugo running for his life from the main big bad and end you out like final season Bakugo singlehandedly stunning on the series big bad like so.

You can tell because REmakes 1-3 still have a semblance of stress, the design philosophy has changed since the 90's.

(To be fair, there are harder settings, and if you really care you can always self-impose restrictions.)

Because those games and somewhat CV, focused on the horror, tragedy and loss of a biohazard outbreak of monsters, especially 2 and 3, that are outright dour and somber at the start, the city is a warzone... The aftermath of a warzone.

Same with the enemies, they are nightmares, capped with G-Birkin being truly awestriking in how bad the viruses can be, and Nemesis being a highlight of how much malicious intent was behind these things.

I do like how everything T-virus kept the Greek myth themes, with their strongest beings named after some of thr strongest in myth, Talos, Nyx, and the aptly named Nemesis
