they could do Resident Evil 00, showing what went down with Bravo team before Alpha arrived.
only Enrico has a story to tell there, and he seemed fucking clueless beyond the idea of a traitor, he clearly didn't rub up against anything too wild as he was just farting around their underground subway system.

Also I always found it to be retarded that Rebecca took the subway system to the outskirts Factory (which is in City Limits for gods sakes) that was also seen in RE2 (and I guess Outbreak later) yet when all of S.T.A.R.S get back to base after.. no one goes and investigates that location? it remains in ACTIVE USE to get to NEST for the next few months!

I can't get over that 2 hours of Resident Evil 9's short length is gathering parts for an explosive to open a gate. Leon drives up to Raccoon City's perimeter and is immediately roadblocked by a single gate.
I'm not one to normally nitpick this kind of thing but it's really dumb. The bad guys took a helicopter and flew over this 30 foot tall gate no problem.

While I enjoyed RE9, it doesn't have the staying power of recent titles. As dogshit as RE8 is, there's at least a well structured game underneath it's gayness. RE7 even with it's shitty back half is better than the other two. Especially the great DLC.

Everything story wise about 9 was dumb. I enjoyed it, but it was one of the dumbest RE games, and that's really saying something.

Do people think Nukes are more destructive than they are? there IS a giant fuck off crater in Racoon city from the Nuke (honestly bigger than what an actual Nuke would make) but why, oh way do people think it would knock over every building.

that isn't how they work, even the fucking Tsar Bomb wouldn't pave the whole city to the floor.Ver archivo adjunto 9182533
Thing is, in the original canon, it wasn't just one nuke - and even if Capcom later retconned it to be thermobaric missiles, multiple of those aren't going to leave a shit-ton of buildings with intact windows, either. And besides that - in the new canon, clearly whatever they did was ineffective anyway, as there are still BOWs [and original zombies, apparently] just wandering around. I was always led to believe the entire point of the nuke/missile strike was "this situation is unsalvageable, wipe out fucking everything that moves" yet later we find out, they didn't even do that, really.

That was kinda my point I guess, even with the retcon, it doesn't really make sense for the government to fling ONE thermobaric bomb at that situation, see several buildings intact [all likely teeming with BOWs/zombies], and one can assume they'd take a look at the place from aircraft/satellites afterward and go "shit guys that obviously didn't get it". So in the original canon, given we see the entire city get ripped apart by missiles in multiple games, it REALLY doesn't make sense, but given the new canon it still doesn't make sense either.

well one thing is consistent, the U.S. Govt in the setting, is incompetent, evil and lazy.

they could have salvaged the situation day 1 of the outbreak, because they knew it happened, because their guys (HUNK's party is directly working for the Govt to get the virus) caused it.

They just barricaded the city, let it stew for a bit likely to get data, then bombed it to shit, and let the place rot.

True, maybe it genuinely was incompetence, just "welp we flung a missile or two at it and put up a fence around it, job's done!", and maybe early on I think it could have been salvaged by sending in a number of tanks, IFVs, some helicopters with doorgunners, etc. Wipe out most of the zombies, wait for the actual BOWs to make their presence known [they eventually would], wipe them out - but with all of the contamination, hard to say if anyone could ever actually live there again - or would want to. Then you have the whole deal with the infested sewers - the rats, thought to be the primary vector, the G-mutants down there, Birkin was running around down there for a long time, Umbrella's subterranean facilities - that's sort of why I always assumed it was a nuke, from the sheer amount of damage causes, the fact that Japanese devs tend to like nukes because we dropped the sun on them twice, and because that's really the only way you'd prevent spread outside of RC's borders and maybe take out the subterranean shit. I mean I assume, as organic matter, most BOWs and T-zombies are not invulnerable to radiation, and irradiating the whole fucking place would be the only way to actually kill everything that moves. The fence is pretty useless given how many BOWs you encounter in every game that can fly/climb. I mean shit, the infected crows alone would have spread the virus far and wide within hours, they can fly 20-60 miles in a 24 hour period.

Honestly, a sort of COD style 'clean up Raccoon City' game would have been fun/interesting, and would have fit more with the direction they wanted to take the series for a bit. You're part of some military unit sent in to just wipe out anything that moves with various equipment.

they could have sent in the military immediately once HUNK's team didn't call back, and quarantined infected before the turned (even if its just to kill them in a safe way) because, get this, the MIlitary was on standby before HUNK's team even fucking left, that's how they had a full blockade before even the people in the City knew it was fucked, meaning the Govt knew full well this exact situation could happen, and the only plan they committed to was "let everyone die".

7 hours after HUNK didn't call in they could have sent in everyone, and completely locked the situation down, it would have saved like, well over 40k lives, but they just let them die, just like that, someone did the calculus and that was the result.

Say what you will about Op Raccoon City, it did cover up some plot holes, actively sabotaging any power and communications, killing the army, ect.

I really didn't like the segregated gameplay. It felt like they couldn't decide which type of RE game to make, and tried to split the difference in the worst way possible. Probably should have split them into two separate campaigns instead of switching back and forth between characters.

Also the fact there's a spider that big wandering around, it would've left the city at some point for food... Of course the buried zombies that have been just chilling for 27 years also ignore thermodynamics. 9's entire story is stupid and we really shouldn't be arguing over what kind of boom they used.

The only parts of 9 I liked were grace escaping from her initial capture cause its a creative escape, the mr. x fight to show how far leon had come and the hunk fight because it comes out of nowhere, he needs no introduction therefore they don't give him one.
