Reorganization of September 29th, 2025

Request: I would like to see Likes and Quotes and Profile Messages to be slightly more easy to differentiate.

I am a very funny and popular poster so every day I have to wade through dozens of updoots while I'm looking for people who have quoted me.

Really the only change I can think of is that when an ignored user is highlighted and you skim the highlights in a thread the arrows cease to work when it runs into the next highlight being an ignored user, so making it so ignored users are just skipped or something would be preferred

I echo the people saying Community Watch should be separated to some extent from individual lolcows. I'm also not sure about combining deathfats with the beauty parlor. While there's obviously overlap—and I think the whole deathfat thing has been on the decline for at least five years—they are separate concepts.

While I initially thought combining all the lolcows together was annoying, I do think now that it exposes people to more threads they otherwise wouldn't see or be aware of. And though I'm not a huge sektur guy, I think it's time to consider whether it's worth having a whole separate Ethan Ralph subforum. It's basically historical at this point because he's just dying in a shack in Mexico, and all the figures connected to him have either gone off to do their own thing, left the public eye, or are irrelevant.

If we're talking about general forum changes:

Maybe removing the ability for negrates to contribute to highlight counters? It can get tiresome trying to skim through a fast moving thread for important details and getting 20 ragebait posts in a row.

I edited the 'Active threads' area so that it does not include author information, only includes the thread title, links to /unread instead of the OP, and is expanded to include 5 more threads.
Maybe drop "Last activity" for Active Threads too? Since it's usually between "A moment ago" and an hour.

It would save some more vertical space.

Can you remove the click ability of usernames under thread titles on mobile? They're fairly close to each other, and since I couldn't give a fuck about who started a thread, it'd be nice to not be able to miss click when trying to open a thread.

I think there should be a threshold for negrated comments to be highlighted; maybe like at least 30% positive reacts qualifies it for a highlight. Some replies are controversial and not necessarily ragebait.

does anyone use these boxes on the side / mobile bottom?
I use them all the time and find that they finding new activity convenient.
I edited the 'Active threads' area
Hey while you're at it there's something about the active threads tab that's always bugged me, and I suspect I'm not alone.

When you click a link in Active Threads it takes you to the start of the thread, meaning you then have to click "First Unread" if it's a thread you've read before.

If there's anyway to make it so the link in Active Threads functions the same as the normal thread link and automatically takes you to the first unread post, that would be great. Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind, you beat me to it. I just didn't notice because I'm not in the habit of using the active thread links for that very reason.

Request: I don't know if it was intentional but the last major change added dark mode for all the themes. I've been using the Stealth theme since it's easier to browse in public and the dark theme makes it easier to look at. However all the links are the same color white as the text which makes it hard to see what's clickable when reading without guessing. Any way to change the style to make the links blue in dark mode for the Stealth theme?

An index for threads to note and hyperlink substantial information (not necessarily features) would be a cool idea. many times you have to sift through pages of jokes and arguments to find something. Marking important archived videos, chat logs, and details and adding them to the index would be a significant upgrade for organizing archived information.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet but when highlight surfing some of the highlights are really long and the option to surf is only at the top of the post, a suggestion I have would be highlighted posts have the surf options on the top and bottom, or only add the bottom if the post is long enough.

Thank you love you xxxx

merging lolcows makes sense. Merging communities with people does not. Everything else is fine. Separate community watch again.
There are 'eras' of lolcows too, but merging everything isn't great. Tough to present a front page I suppose. 'off topic' now has most of the space on opening.
