Ihmadou al Rab by the Choir of Beirut, a musical rendition of Psalm 118. I was looking for some Orthodox Christian hymns one day and stumbled onto it.

I got led down a rabbit hole with this one. The first part of the lyrics is misattributed to Albert Camus, and the second part is based on Leviticus 19:18 - "Love your fellow as yourself":
I don't know where the tune comes from, but the original Jewish use of it seems to been a trippy as hell setting for Numbers 25:13 of all things.

So growing up, my family listened to this guy Carman (real name Carman Licciardello, dude just passed away about a year ago)
If you've watched Brad Jones, the Cinema Snob, you'll probably recognize his music.
While he made worship music, unlike most Christian acts, he put some fun into them.

Like he put the John 3:16 verse into a James Bond style song and how its 'our' mission to spread the word of God; Mission 3:16.
He'd also make short films for those songs.

Fucking intense feeling stuff. I use this at times in RPG's for a good creepy chant ambience.

I was looking around my playlists on youtube for this very orthodox, evil-looking, long-bearded, black robes with red symbols-wearing monk, and his(theirs?) songs, but couldn't find anything.
Thought I had originally found them here, but no.. Any idea what I'm talking about? Don't know what to search for, as I think the titles were ... not english.

I thought I ask here since it is my best bet, but this has been bothering me. You know the game Spiritual Warfare for the NES? What is the hymn that plays constantly in the background in the overworld? I didn't think much of it until I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and I heard the same hymn. Both versions are instrumental so I don't know the lyrics to look it up.

It may have been The Megaloschemos II, its a chant sung by the Great schema monks of Bulgaria. The Russians have their own version but they normally wear silver instead of red symbols.
