Does the sub have the "true" prefix because r/uglywomen was, predictably, overrun by troons? Would be surprising, as troons usually lack the self-awareness.

Could also be like Trueoffmychest, where the first one ends up being a karmafarm or something.

I doubt it, usually the "true" subs are made in response to bad jannying. r/trueunpopularopinion and r/trueoffmychest were both made because r/unpopularopinion and r/offmychest were deleting or censoring like 99% of posts.
