Yeah, the new TFR update is ass when it comes to the Middle East.
Case and point: The House of Representatives won the civil war this game, instead of Gaddafi, the de-facto head of their army won the election. I thought "Ok, cool. Nice change of pace", but when the Maghreb war kicked off I noticed he joined Algeria. unlike Gaddafi who stays neutral and invades Tunisia. On the topic of Tunisia, I noticed that Tunisia joined Morocco and that their ideology was changed to neoliberalism instead of the usual oligarchy.
Anyway, the war went as normal except this time I tipped the scales in favor of Morocco and they took picrel land, that disconnected strip of land on the coast of Algeria is a puppet of theirs that I don't know the tag for. This is where things start to go down hill, since while Tunisia was in the war with Morocco, they never got peaced out with Algeria or Libya forcing me to use the Toolpack. Eventually the Algerian civil war kicked off, and none of the factions had any troops. I don't know if this is because I used delall on Algeria or if they naturally spawn without any troops, but regardless I noticed Russia and their allies still sending volunteers to the ALG tag when they should have no further stake in the Maghreb. I also noticed that Mauretania got a custom Moroccan-puppet tag when they didn't even join the war at all.
Regardless, I let the war play out and that's when Libya declared war on ALL of the civil war factions. In my previous run, Gaddafi got elected but only invaded Tunisia, but this Libya shouldn't be expanding since Gaddafi isn't in charge. Either way, I wanted to see the custom tags that would form so I tipped the scales in favor of the Islamists. Now they reunited just fine, but their capital didn't mvoe from its original position in the Sahara, and that's when I noticed that the Moroccan puppet in Algeria had a second city of Algiers as their capital, and that the province they owned held 22 million people in contrast to Algiers' 3 million.
It's clear the TFR devs didn't even try to change the population values or clean up old VPs, and it was at that point that Libya also declared war on Morocco as they were invading Algeria, causing NATO to spam volunteers to Morocco when again, the Maghreb war is over and they shouldn't have any more stake in the conflict. Eventually, I said "Fuck it" and let Libya take all of the Maghreb, causing them to form Gaddafi's tag.
I don't know who's the baboon gorilla nigger in charge of playtesting is at TFR, but if this is the standard for small updates, then I dread what 1.1 will be like.
