‘Powerpuff Girls’ Live-Action Series - Officially Dead

Nah they'd portray them as victims of Utonium or something like that.

With the shit Drake's done in this, I'm super surprised he's black. I'm unironically curious about how the writers here view black people. I mean, I usually say the progressives don't really care about black people, but I mean that in the average sense: normies don't wake up and think about how black people can get treated in America. They just live their lives and attend to their responsibilities.

With the way Drake's acting in this, and how they made Buttercup, I gotta wonder how they view black people.

Really? I've heard nothing but praise for that episode. You sure you guys aren't confusing Faust's regretful episode full of bad criticism/death threats being "Everyone Knows it's Bendy" from Foster's? The show was already painful thanks to Bloo but that episode in particular was fuckshit.
No, the feminist episode did get her death threats from a bunch of crazy feminist bitches, saying how she's bowing down to patriarchy and shit.

It's the same with how the people behind the 2016 reboot were pretty much sexist to women by removing the boobs of the adult characters, making the girls weak willed, and on top of that replacing all the female VA's who still work in the VA industry with new actors yet the male VA's reprise their roles.

It's really funny how each reboot/sequel of Powerpuff girls is run by woke people who are inadvertently racist or sexist.

Didn't they also explain how in the 2016 reboot, the only reason Prof made the girls were because a female scientist made "the perfect boy" and he gets some jealous about it?

Yes, he only made them to show her up, and his first attempt created that 4th Powerpuff Girl that had like 8 names.

At least it's better than him creating the girls as an easy way to exploit child labor and the good will of others by engaging in acts of deliberate property damage with his monster creation, and ruining the childhood of girls who grew up to be degenerates like this CW show implies.

Despite that the 2016 one is pretty shit and that just reinforces the unintentional sexism of that show.

They already have and his name's Clive.

I found a bingo card on Know Your Meme. Source is Tumblr (archive), but whatever.

Only a script and it's already almost a blackout.
You know, it's things like this that, for me, beg the question: just who the fuck is this show even for?
  • People who grew up on the original PPG? No, because it takes all the necessary steps to shamelessly and unapologetically desecrate what people liked about the old show in the first place.
  • Potential fans looking to get into the franchise? No, because, again, this show is deliberately aiming to be as unrepresentative of the IP as humanly possible.
  • The "woke" crowd? No, because the original show is probably one of the very few legacy properties they actually like, and even they hate seeing their favorite characters get fucked like this.
  • Fans of "so bad it's good" media? No, because aside from the IP it doesn't do much to separate itself from any of the other "edgy reboots" we've been getting these days.
  • Those who just want to see some hot chicks cosplaying as the Powerpuff Girls? ...eh, maybe, but that's a (thankfully) very specific and tiny niche.
At least shit like the Star Wars sequels knew to pander to 40-year-old wine aunts and Reylo fanatics alike, and even the 2016 reboot served as an outlet for pedophile writers to vicariously live out their fantasies. This CW show looks like it has literally nothing to offer to anyone.

I'm like 80 to 90 percent certain this is an elaborate money laundering scheme.

You want to know who the Professor is? The Professor is someone who, in the movie that told the origins of the Powerpuff Girls, upon being locked up in jail and hated by the entire town because the girls tore up the town accidentally playing tag, was way more concerned about not being able to pick up the girls from school and worried that they’d be alone than anything else.

Fuck every single person who thought up/approved/agreed with making him the villain.

That movie gets a lot of flack for being too dark not knowing that the whole original show has it moments, anyone remembers Abracadaver?

/co/ also made a joke post of Mojo Jojo making that CW script

The only people I can see this being for are pretentious nerds like Moviebob who enjoy any deconstruction and realistic take on stuff made for children.

I can't even be bothered to look up the script's name for the little bitch (Annabelle?) but she pretty much IS a Princess type character being flanderized to all hell. And I can guarantee if that doesn't count, Princess HERSELF would show up at some point simply by virtue of being maybe the only actual truly human reoccurring villain the PPG ever had due to being the dark counterpart to the girls aside from the Rowdyruffs.

With the shit Drake's done in this, I'm super surprised he's black. I'm unironically curious about how the writers here view black people. I'm 100% certain that the payoff for all this is that Utonium, being every single 'bad black father' trope they could manage taken to absurd extremes...is going to be completely and utterly forgiven by the girls by the end of the show.

The whole point predictably is to undermine those stereotypes with Utonium, in the worst possible way by first EMBRACING THEM FULL-ON.

The only people I can see this being for are pretentious nerds like Moviebob who enjoy any deconstruction and realistic take on stuff made for children.

Or the usual 'subverted expectations' shit we've been getting about completely blowing up beloved franchises and turning beloved characters into horrible caricatures in an effort to destroy their appeal.

I'm pretty sure a number of people behind Powerpuff think The Last Jedi is a good film because of what went down with Skywalker, suffice to say.
