A GM 350 small block may be dull but you get a huge aftermarket.

Because reasons.

For those who can't make out what this is, someone took a good old Chevy 350 and made it dual over head cam, because reasons. To those not the most tech savvy this is just absurd.

You will not find any motor that has the kind of support. While many motors have a huge amount of aftermarket and all sorts of absurd things to run with or fiddle with I think the 350's gotta be king of the roost for aftermarket success.

But I did get a e303 cam for 20 bucks on sale once. It was a shitty chinese re grind OEM cam, but still a working cam shaft for a 302 for less than a fill up cost.

This.

Look at what kind of power people are getting out of the pushrod LSX engine, both n/a and boosted.

Pushrods and rocker arms are not obsolete.
Now with the new LT gen and that ever so sexy Direct Injection OHV isn't going away time soon.

I've had 2 LSX powered cars, and dearly miss them both.

You can NOT break those cars. Wonderful daily drivers. A bit dull but never fail. If they do it's an easy fix, even serious issues are "cheap" since so many out there.

Also if it hasn't become clear I'm kinda a car guy posting non stop.

So can we expand to new cars and possible shopping? I priced a new toy/daily out or should that go to another thread?
