Here's the TL;DR of the Pokimane situation, presented in a brief timeline format. I doubt any of the videos or Tweets linked are going to be deleted any time soon, but I'm archiving and keeping/linking archives just in case:

The Set-Up to the Drama

March 31, 2020: LeafyIsHere starts posting content regularly on YouTube again, mostly mocking other e-celebrities such as iDubbbz. This will become more relevant later on.

May 13, 2020: It'sAGundam makes a video titled "Simp willingly goes homeless for Pokimane". True to the title, Gundam makes fun of a man who impoverished himself in his zeal to give his own money to a random internet girl who would have literally forgot about him five minutes after they met, to the point where he was evicted from his apartment because he couldn't even pay his rent in due time. This video was typical of Gundam's commentary on the dealings and happenings of Twitch, its personalities, and the events surrounding them, but, unbeknownst to Gundam and others, this video would kick up a saga that ended up entangling him with Pokimane herself.

Sooner after the video is released, Pokimane starts up a stream where she reacts to It'sAGundam's video. She gets personally offended by it for whatever reason, enough to try to get Gundam's sponsors taken away from him, therefore starting the drama proper.

The Drama Proper

Going after someone's sponsors is a major faux pas in the YouTube "community" (and has been for at least a while), so this opened up Poki to some massive backlash. It'sAGundam himself responded with a follow-up video concerning Pokimane's efforts to get his sponsors taken away on May 19, 2020.

Soon after, YouTuber and perennial faux-fence sitter Philip DeFranco made a video on May 20, 2020 where he addressed the then-newly formed Pokimane/It'sAGundam controversy for a bit (starting at around 3:33 into the video), but noticeably never referred to It'sAGundam by name. This was seen by some members of the YouTube "community" as DeFranco "simping" for Pokimane (because really, what was the point of not mentioning It'sAGundam by name), and he got a hefty amount of backlash for it from users such as Diesel Patches (whose video, titled "Philip DeFranco Simps for Pokimane", was made on May 25, 2020).

In the meantime, Pokimane was having trouble with her detractors, as she hid Tweets and deleted comments from her videos that she didn't like. It'sAGundam commented on this situation in two videos titled "Philip Defranco Omits my name & Pokimane hides tweets that don't agree with her" (released May 24, 2020) and "Philip Defranco back tracks & Poki's comment section roasts her." (Jun 4, 2020)

Completely coincidentally (I'm sure), It'sAGundam got his Twitch channel suspended for harassment around June 12, 2020. He remarks on the occasion in the video "Twitch Suspended Me I think we all know why".

Despite this, the controversy seemed to die down for a bit (after all, YouTube drama can't last forever), until around June 19, 2020. Pokimane revived it when she stupidly decided to post a non-apology on Twitter. Of course, this only got her more shit. It'sAGundam himself joined in, with a video titled "Pokimane The Carole Baskin Of Twitch Apologized, But Not Really..." (June 21, 2020).

Now it seemed like the controversy would truly simmer down and turn into water under the bridge. Unfortunately for Pokimane, this water wouldn't remain a quiet stream, but instead turn into a raging torrent in due time.

The Second Part of the Drama

July 26, 2020: Keemstar makes a tweet where he says Pokimane is a "2/10". For some reason, this caused endless screeching on Keemstar's comment section about how the tweet was "unnecessary" and "misogynistic" and just too mean to Pokimane. This also becomes more relevant later on.

July 30, 2020: LeafyIsHere releases "Content Nuke: Pokimane", to the tune of (as of the time of writing this) 1.8 million views on YouTube. The video sets off a fresh wave of Pokimane criticism that her white knights and simps try (and fail) to counteract, kicking off the second part of the drama proper. Leafy also reveals that Poki had a boyfriend, which kicks of something of a civil war among her simps (apparently she wasn't public with this information, so this wasn't common knowledge among them). Indeed, her daily averages plummeted to seemingly all-time lows as a result of the video, as per this glorified blog post news article.

Have for example this reaction, which goes beyond parody to the point where one can't tell (at least at first) whether it was made seriously or as a joke. Some of them almost certainly tried to pull some gay ops in reaction to this news as well, as the Content Nuke was soon age-restricted, likely as a result of Poki simps spamming YouTube's report function.

At the same time, Keemstar releases "Pokimane Has a BOYFRIEND! #DramaAlert MrBeast Clues - Ninja 's ISLAND!", where he goes into a bit more detail about this boyfriend issue, fanning the flames of the controversy even harder (as Keem is wont to do).

In order to "get away" from this little spectacle, and try to convert it into a "win", Pokimane made a joke tweet where she referred to a cardboard cutout of Obama as her "boyfriend". Some of the responses of the relieved simps, archived within this news article (which also notes a slow but steady decline in Pokimane's gains in subscribers and viewers), are...enlightening, to say the least.

The pitiful attempts from Poki's simp army to defend her in response to this video (Twitch streamer xQc's reaction in particular was rather hilarious), along with their attempts to try to censor it in some fashion, led Leafy to release "Content Fallout - Pokimane" on August 2, 2020. Even further, Leafy released "Content Nuclear Winter: Pokimane" on August 5, 2020. And of course, all this generated yet another wave of criticism for our most fair maiden Pokimane, to the point where almost nobody is openly defending her now, even those who were fiercely white-knighting her before, as was noted by Keem himself (Twitter video archived down below).

Oh and by the way, there is a huge list of banned words and phrases on Pokimane's discord, most of which relate to her controversies and the terms commonly used in them. Which, incidentally, is why Keemstar only uses Skype, as "only degenerate lowlifes use discord". Can't really say I disagree with him there.
