In pixy's defense, I have never seen anybody cosplay this specific character well. The character's costume just does not translate into real life clothing very well. Pixy got just as close as the chick on the left did.

Yeah but the one on the left seemingly went for a "sexy" version of R. Mika. And there are some that managed to pull it off and look like they put actual effort into their costume. Pixy on the other hand has always half-assed her cosplay so that it always looks cheap and unfinished.

I think her parents spoiled her when she was young, let her do whatever she wanted for the longest time, but then eventually tried to push her to be more responsible, independent, etc which she obviously interprets as mean and abusive. She's longed to be able to play vidya, watch anime and eat snacks all day for 20 years because she can't handle the basic stresses of being an adult. I think her brain problems really began in college when cosplay gave her a way out of having to grow up. While this hobby could have helped her manage stress and handle (real) life better, she instead let it consume her completely and create even more stress. She wanted to be more special than she actually is so badly so that she could get out of the mundane life of a middle class white American woman, so the half-Japanese delusion was born. She probably also autistically thought loving Japanese pop culture as much as she does MUST mean she is a least a little Japanese herself (failing to understand that someone can enjoy another culture without belonging to it themselves). Her life is an adjustment disorder that spiraled out of control.

It doesn't help that Debbie probably put dumb and bizarre ideas about being a woman into Sarah's head that she's rebelled against in various ways. She's clumsy and awkward so she couldn't be the little cheerleader/dancer/whatever Debbie wanted her to be. Becoming a cosplay/gravure idol was the next best thing. The only dudes she associated with were massive losers, so no becoming a housewife and mother either. Then after failing her dream spectacularly (mostly because she learned she's not Japanese at all and not because of how ridiculous she looked and acted all those years), she slowly morphed into this aimless crazy person we're observing now. Nowadays because she's sexually traumatized and escapes through Kingdom Hearts yaoi, she's crafting an identity around that. There's no room for a straight woman pushing 40 in her fantasies, so she must become a gay teenaged boy. Being a boyish fujoshi or even an enby isn't enough, she has to be intersex too because she doesn't know what her own cervix is and thinks it's a penis trying to push itself out. Also she's the only tranny in all of Victoria so there's no reason to find support from the other trans people in town because they don't exist to her.

Finding a partner should be the absolute last thing on Sarah's mind though. Being "unfuckable" is the least of her problems. Bitch can't accept reality on a basic level. Idk.... I have a hard time believing sarah could have gotten several irl men interested in her unless they were insanely drunk or desperate. She's probably not paying for the doctor's appointments because she likely qualifies for this mental health program (and for this health care program) but neither of those programs cover medication as far as I can tell and she doesn't have health insurance, right? Is it bad to switch from one antipsychotic to another quickly? We don't know how many samples she got. When I couldn't afford my proton pump inhibitor back when they were crazy expensive the doctor gave me months and months worth of samples. But Pixy might not be that lucky.

Yes. You’re generally supposed to wean from one over time and not just go cold turkey. I don’t see Pixy taking this medication long term, especially if there’s no cheap generic. But if she actually takes more than a couple pills and then abruptly discontinues it, then her brain chemistry would get even more fucked up (temporarily or permanently; I don’t know how potent the pill is or how large her starting dose is).

I should be happy that she got actual medical intervention, but I felt uneasy reading that post because I know Pixy won’t comply independently or long term without additional intervention and support. It may do her much more harm than good.

I can't see her taking any anti-psychotic for very long because those side effects are often worse than whatever symptoms they're supposed to treat.

And that's possibly why so many people on medication stop taking it. It's a sad state of affairs but we still don't understand the brain and how it works as well as we could. So every method is effectively a band-aid method and they will try to get you on a cocktail of drugs that smooths you out but doesn't make you go catatonic or crazier than you were before.
