I think the only reason ADF got back into bikes again (after ragequitting when trying to learn as a kid) was because of the China character in the Hetalia anime, which also launched the fixation on communism. Bikes used to be -- and still are -- widely used in the PRC.
ADF clearly likes to think of all the different communist regimes and ideologies as a single homogeneous thing, just like with "Latinx" cultures.

It would be funny for him to discover the various ideologies present within communism, him trying to wrap his head around why communists hate each other more than they do the capitalist system. But that would require him to do some reading, which could lead to him discovering that communism isn't all that great for a majority of people.
But the possibilities of this discovery! Phil discovers Hoxhaism, leads to him buying loads of concrete to try and build self-defense bunkers wherever he ends up. He even tries to emulate how those bunkers are built, rounded domes with a multiple view ports, buys some radios, etc.

When you think about it, the great failure of all the Communists of the past was they started out with great imaginary countries where everything was perfect, but then when they executed their plans, they ended up with a psychotic shithole. Phil has taken this problem out of Communism, by starting out with an imaginary country that is already a psychotic shithole.
