Yeah, I don't think it's really "solidarity" when it's money for something that only benefits you and you have no intention of ever giving anyone anything in return.
Also, his tendency to tag people in his "gib munny" posts... how have these people not unfriended him yet? If your friendship basically consists entirely of one-sided demands for money, why bother?

You can mute someone so that you don't receive notifications or see their posts, but it still looks like you're their friend. I would bet solid money that at least 2/3 of Phil's friends list has done this. (and 2/3 of the people who haven't are Kiwi socks.) It lets them look like a good ally without having to actually deal with Phil.
