Sorry, i thought i just read the terms "Phil" and "Employment opportunities" in the same sentence.

Outside of the terms of some state sponsored sperg redemption program, there is more chance of a trip to the moon than Phil trading precious oppression hours in exchange for a wage.

Phil warns that he plans to spam his ebegging throughout 2017, says he has time commitments from going to "an ass load of demostrations" and a "boob job pending."

Aaand there's the exact words "recovering from 5+ years of houselessness" again. All this is going to do is get him unfollowed by all his remaining Facebook friends. Nobody can afford to give him the thousands of dollars he needs in one go, so it's not like donating will make the spam go away. And even if he did raise the money, he'd go on asking for more - he's careful to say that $5000 may not be enough.

I like the helpful suggestion brushed aside there. "Here's a way of cutting your costs while helping you get back into a work mentality." "Thanks, but I just don't have time due to a series of vague commitments that don't yet exist." I'm sure the one thing those protests need to succeed is an ignorant self-centred freak whose main function is to serve as the worst example of any cause he attaches himself to.

I don't even get what "recovering from blah blah blah" is supposed to entail. He's been couch-surfing and sleeping in motels, and he has a storage unit full of crap. Basically his "recovery" consists of the same movement towards independence that everyone else his age did ten years ago, and it sure as hell doesn't cost $5000, particularly given that he's already got the apartment. Just figure out the basics, prepare a budget, get the bare minimum, upgrade as you go along.

I'm pretty sure this is just the fatal combination of greed and autism. He doesn't realise that his ignorance of money is not universal, and so he thinks he can just pull a figure out of his capacious arse and everyone will just go along with it because they love Izzy Hell so much. I get the impression that it blindsides him when people say, "Actually you don't need to pay that much for X, you're welcome."

Phil says he left all his winter clothing in the storage locker and needs more money to go back and get them.

Hey Phil? Winter happens right around the same time every year. Portland gets cold in the winter. You know all of these things. You knew this was coming. You've also made at least one recent trip down to your storage locker.

Why the hell didn't you get your Winter clothes the last time you were down there!?

I know, I know.

Iirc Free geek really does just give out free computers and on top of that they teach you how to build it while you volunteer which is all great resume stuff. It doesn't even take that long to get the computer. Phil is fucking retarded, portland is like magical Christmas land with free shit everywhere for even basic effort

Do other cities have similar organizations or is it just the liberal ones?

Ya know, most people don't accumulate all that much shit while they're homeless, let alone have the ability to afford a $155 storage locker for luxury items. And considering how many round trips Phil makes, you'd think he'd have brought more of his useless shit up by now. Leave it to him to find thev most expensive and least efficient way to do things. Hell, he could just buy a new wardrobe at this point and stop paying for his rental unit. What's he got in there? Fucking maps, cosplay shit and some bondage gear?

Another reason why I have zero sympathy for Phil.

Idk but I've never heard of it anywhere else

The more I think about it the more I wonder what Phil does with his time. I know the obvious answer is "nothing, " but hear me out. Oakland trips are maybe once a month. how many boob job appointments could you do, once a week? maybe twice? protests are starting in the evening it seems so that leaves the rest of the day with nothing going on.
But beyond that, Phil never really mentions watching any shows or other websites he goes to or updates, which is what most other useless leeches spend their time doing. He doesn't play video games. He doesn't spend all day on twitter like wu and there can't be that much to read on his Facebook. even chris spends time playing with Legos and vidya, which, while mostly stupid, are at least hobbies that take up time. does Phil really just sit around all day looking at maps and chattering with his headmates?

"Infrastructural needs?"

I was about to comment. He has a house, most of his shit (I'm assuming), their combined SSI SHOULD be able to cover rent and food...

Beyond the bike and computer, which even here are easy to get cheap (although I don't know of many organizations that give them away)....wtf does he plan to beg for?

Hey why doesn't he just steal the bike from Goodwill? He doesn't seem to care about it actually working, ala the microwave.

There was a thread the other day in the Chris forum about what you would say to Chris if you ran into him. I honestly couldn't think of a single thing that I'd want to say to Chris, but if I ran into Phil? That would be easy.

"Stop whining. The world doesn't owe you anything. "
