Perception Of Things That Have Completely Changed Due To Media - Try to keep modern politics to a minimum

I thought of another one. I love my family and all of my friends love their families. While I get that there are some exceptions with extreme abuse, I feel like that is true with most people, even though you might disagree with family members sometimes. But if you believe media dating back to the 90s, blood related family members will abuse you and get rid of you at the drop of a hat, and making some sort of adopted family is much better. You see it in shit like X-men, or abusive relationships in the simpsons and family guy.

And I get that those last two are comedy examples, but I feel it's had a real effect on people, you see retards online, mostly on reddit, telling people to cut off their family members for mere disagreements all the time. I don't remember that being a predominant way of thinking before media started pushing it. And I don't have anything against adoption, I just think shitting on blood-related family was edgy at some point and everyone copied it because they thought it was "cool".
