Path of Exile

This would probably be a fun league for me to blast to oblivion but I'm taking it slow. I've currently swapped to Whirling Assault on white maps but I have no idea where to take it. The Hollow Form shit with Jungroan looks too jank for me and will certainly grow in price via the streamer effect. Facebreaker's Hollow Palm might be an angle but that'd just turn me into an int-stacker (I can't even use Pillar of the Caged God for full-screen clear) and I would need way better armour for that. I have been using the Grip of Winter gloves since I dropped it in Act 1 which turns into all damage can chill and freeze with the Martial Artist node. I might just end up sticking to like tri-ele Whirling Assault or something vanilla.

Still haven't played Druid, is he any good?
It's fine, but you'll be branded a furry.

Going to watch some YouTube videos on builds and see which one I want to go with.
Why not make your own build? Why be a cuck?

A lot of negative reviews on Steam. Is it worth playing?
Nigga, you had free weekend and could've made your own mind.
But, yes, in my opinion the game is fun and it appeals to my particular brand of autism where I like to explore and sink my teeth into mechanics and interactions.
That being said, I also left a negative review, because Temple is bugged as hell with minions.

If you liked Diablo 2 but wished there were more bits and bobs to adjust, this is the game for you. There's no pay to win, every skill is endlessly capable of being modified. Imagine if you were playing a D2 Sorceress and thought, I wish I could throw like 9 ice orbs even if they did less damage, but also leave ice residue on the ground so my lightning bolt does double damage using it as a conduit and if I electrify 5 monsters, meteors crash the playfield. It's really incredible how much you can do and the new league just started, never been a better time to jump in. It's like a Rube Goldberg machine of death. I'm at 500 hours and still come back for every league.

It's my favorite loot goblin game.

I got my monke. I've been wanting to do this for years.

I didn't even know they had another free weekend, what is it the third one? How is Path of Exile 2 still not free to play, I thought that was the goal? I played it for hours on the first free weekend, but on the second I lost interest after an hour. So there is no way I spend money on this.

It will be free to play when 1.0 releases (probably December). You have to pay to play early (but you're really just buying POO cash which you use for stash tabs and cosmetics, and then you get access to the beta or whatever. You're not paying solely for access is what I'm saying.)

Yeah GGG has probably the least offensive approach to MTX and funding the game. Supporter packs come with cosmetics specific to the pack and MTX points, you can buy points on their own, no dupes, and the "paid early access beta" is essentially a supporter pack on its own. They're one of the few companies providing a "free" game that I don't mind tossing money to once in a while.

Oh, and they sometimes allow dorks with too much money to pay for an item to get added, either uniques or something like Valdo's.

There are currently 350k players in the game. Not bad.

I think GGG would be better off doing a free week rather than a weekend at launch. A Weekend isn't enough time for a completely new player to make it even close to endgame, and some people might just quit because of that. However, I also think they need to stop making the game easier. It's in a pretty decent place right now with regard to difficulty vs. rewards.

Both Diablo 4 and POE2 have their own launchers, which makes it hard to gauge who has more concurrent players, but on Steam, POE2 is raping Diablo 4. Although Diablo 4's valleys are higher than POE2's, its peaks are way lower.

A free weekend is fine imo. I'm not able to explain why I feel this way because it's vibes based, but a week might be too long.

A little tip for unfortunate individuals using a hotspot cellphone wifi to play and getting constant stutter: USB network sharing is much more stable.

You can now call me poor. I'm playing monk, POVERTY IS A BLESSING FOR ME

Just got to Act 4 with Deadrabbit's plant lich as a league starter and I am having a blast! The game is a far cry from when it first "released" and a lot of the mechanics seem more intuitive to me than I expected.

I'm glad I decided to go with someone else's build at first, but I'm excited to try making my own jank. Gemling legionnaire has a node that reduces the slow effect on casting skills while moving, so I'm wondering if there is a path to make something that scales off of movement speed really well...

Killed the Arbiter of Divinity.

Beating him grants free completion for one of the big Fortress' area each time, but you gotta find another set of Origin Cradle and Origin Spark to do it again. If you go north-ish away from the Precursor Fortress, into the randomly generated infinite atlas, you'll find extra Matriarch and Patriarch Halls that give them, they appear as orange (iirc) beacon of light in the atlas' unexplored darkness. Or buy them if you can afford it.
Killing the final boss of each mechanic also grants 6 points for it.

Playing the same build. I'm diverging from the guide by adding a second curse and while you coulld technically get a third one through lich ascendancy I think there's nothing worth taking since we already break armor so enfeeble + temp chains is enough on its own and vulnerability is a waste.

Im not the biggest fan of the way group play works now. It forces you to run hand in glove with others and I like to run solo a lot and play with friends maybe 30-60 min. I feel guilty taking breaks if they are waiting on me and frustrated if they are slower. As a result I am sitting in discord with some buddies while they run maps together and I am half a day behind because of life comittments.

There is some talk that once you complete main storyline you can then run maps with your buddies and not nuke or brick the other persons progress.

THEY HATE FUN and are so out of touch, you are NOT immortal when flickering and you are always in melee range with no control over your movement, THAT WAS ALWAYS THE POINT OF FLICKER.

I love poe but sometimes they make decisions that leave me bewildered, like do they even play the game? did the dev that test this forget to turn off god-mode or something?

I changed my witch to this build tonight just to see if I like it, I love it. What a great build and I'm only 40 on that character. I think I'll take her to end game as opposed to my tame beast huntress since I can't afford the zoo keeper build weapon just yet.
