I haven't played HoI IV in a while, have they fixed the fact that the allied AI is retarded and will send infinite divisions to your frontline thereby causing supply to crater? It was awful trying to naval invade or something only for the occupied territory to go to an ally who then made it impossible to break out of your beachhead.
It's a little better than it used to be but not by much, you can turn off allied supply in any hub you capture and that helps out quite a bit.

I don't care how many hundreds of hours I put into EU4/5 over the years I will never ever bother to pay attention to AE until a coalition finally fucking does something useful. This is the 4th, or maybe 5th I've faced so far just this game and other than the first which actually declared war (before promptly getting it's shit pushed in) they've done literally nothing except cost me some diplomats and a cabinet member on diplo endeavours.

Lucky you, coalitions for me love to bulk up and declare on me as soon as they have enough strength on paper. Now, as an aside, are the new OOB and division designers for hoi4 paywalled behind the DLC or are coming free with the update?

Have you tried cutting them down before it gets that far? As soon as a couple start joining it might be worth a pre-emptive war, plus the disband coalition/no re-joining for 15 years peace treaty is usually enough to let you improve opinion/reduce AE to stop them joining up once it's over.

New division designer and regimental support companies are free, I think everything else is paid though. One of the shittest DLCs in terms of free vs paid features in a while.

Yeah division designer changes and the support companies are free. The land HQs are the paywalled feature, which as a feature really irks me because it's a lobotomized version of HOI3's OOB system that outside of meta builds can be completely ignored (like damn near most features these days). But then again I don't buy HOI4 DLC, I get them all for free :smug:

Also semi-related, always nice seeing the Kaiserreich tranny devs know what the fans want

I remember asking this years ago, but how did a mod about Germany winning WWI attract so many commies and other assorted degenerates?

I hate paradox and their awful updates. TNORA now crashes on startup. Is there a mod migration guide anywhere?

Edit: Fixed it enough to load into the main menu. Now I just need to fix the division designer gui. I'll probably just disable most of the changes for now.

(I actually rather like the new div designer, but change is scary)
$20 for this country pack is an absolute fucking joke. Their greed at this point is so blatant.
Can you install pirate DLC on a Steam copy of the game or does it all need to be local? I am a moron when it comes to this stuff.

Blackice had a cool concept when they introduced militia wherein infantry (including motorized and mechanized) needed separate production lines for machine-guns and mortars while militia did not, shame Paradox never picked it up and instead made militia retarded to use (when they should have just been a cheaper, less effective infantry replacement). To what extent is attaching regimental support companies fun, or is it just another useless add-on?

The syndicalist countries attract many commies who use Kaiserreich as a sort of wish fulfillment.
Yeah largely down to the commie larp. It also has a long history stretching back to HOI2 so made it fertile ground for infestation. As an alt-history setting it's actually pretty neat (one of the few fleshed out Central Powers wins WW1 concepts), but HOI4 and the emphasis on virtual novel build your own fantasy via the focus trees has ruined a lot of what made it interesting.

Easily. As long as you can get a hold of the raw DLC files you only need CreamAPI to then trick your Steam copy into thinking you own the DLC. Paradox has sluggishly tried getting around this with launcher nonsense (each launcher update breaks the domain name being referenced), but if you don't care about the launcher complaining you don't have verified game files all works great.

Useless add-on. Provides a percentage bonus in the vein of support companies, but doesn't require any unique equipment not already in the game. Basically another lever to pull for whatever larp you're after so Paradox can avoid actually dealing with the underlying issues.

I'm liking it so far, you get to add a little extra punch to some of your divisions and I suspect that you can use it to tailor your units to more theatre specific threats. That said I don't know how useful it will be for minors compared to majors. Also the Overwhelming Firepower spirit doesn't seem to have an effect on the XP cost, not sure if that's an oversight or if it's intentional.

How do you deal with the hits to stability? I'll admit it's something I haven't experimented with, but with how slow the economy develops, I feel like I need it as high as I can get with having to rely on taxes because of how slow the economy develops and internal unrest being a pain in the ass even normally playing as a large country like France.

Cabinet increase stab action + using the loot/war reps to keep stab spending up. I'm sure that's not optimal and properly managing AE and not having to tank it in the first place and spending money on improving the econ might be better, but for me personally I put a larger premium on getting the land (and pops) ASAP and then worry about the money to develop once I have it.
