Least it wasn't in the news for something relating to homosexuals considering the month and the history of OSRS.
They had their little pride moments during the tournament because one of the players, Coxie, is I guess an outspoken gay or something. I recall seeing a couple of posts bitching that one of the players typed "Kill me if gay" moments before he was killed but I didn't archive them, I think it was something to the effect of 'If he said kill me if straight you wouldn't find it funny!'

On the other hand
  • Solomission, the organizer, apparently got engaged to his high school sweetheart during the events of the tournament
  • Faux, one of the players, revealed he was expecting his third child during the last(non finale) day
So you know props for not making the whole thing too gay.

The first day of June Renderscape and some other tranny obsessed reddit entities tried to push some token fag stuff to little effect. Even their own brigading wasn't enough to cover up how many people were telling them to give it up and fuck off. Little by little, we're healing
Yeah, it was actually sort of heartening and nice to see the pushback, even on a shitlib/tankie infested platform like Reddit, people essentially just told them to shut up and fuck off, nobody cares. Everything they tried to post about Fag Month was downvoted heavily from what I saw, most of the comments were "lol shut up nobody cares", and I'm seeing similar rhetoric pretty much everywhere. Not sure what did it, but over the past two years or so, the Fag Month shit has been a lot more subdued, muted and sometimes, outright opposed by the public and people you wouldn't expect it of. Maybe it was the series of troon shooters in the news, both in the U.S and Canada. Whatever it was, I think we're well beyond what I'll call 'Peak Fag', people are done with it and over it.

It's abundantly clear why OSRS became such a hotbed for it though, I suppose. Troons are pretty much all autistic and that has a very high overlap with the average person who plays RS, and in general anything set in a fantasy world [that allows them to 'escape' their existence for a while] and anything that was at one time nominally geared toward children, it's going to be a very well-targeted area. Sonic is a great example of that, then you also have how they've pretty much taken over the open-source/free software community, speedrunning, etc.

All Stars tournament had a live stage finale in Chicago yesterday. A Fox news segment:

Haven't watched the actual finale because lmao OSRS PvP and not much backstage stuff.

The fuck, people still give a shit about Deadman? Not only that, but to the point of having a big ass event for it? Honestly half surprised with how much absolute shit they've injected into the game that they're still a big enough following to support it, but then you see who it is and it's less surprising. I mean, dude dressed as the Sandwich Lady, soys and greasy autistic women filling the seats...

Really cool to see this shit on the actual news. Also, every time I see Mod Kieren it's so uncanny how skinny he is now compared to how much of a chungus he used to be.

I didn't pay attention to the DMM leadup & recently took a break from OSRS, but I put this on in the background while doing other things & thought they did an alright job. Honestly, I thought it would be boring because I don't have any clue about PvP, but the announcers did a fine job casting over the fights! Good job of building hype in a simple & understandable way. When they would pan over the crowd on the broadcast from time to time a lot of them just kinda looked like normal people.
Loved their little setup on the stage with the PCs, player cams, etc. Fun lighting in the main arena too- all in all, looked fun & like it gathered a good crowd!
