Is it true that Oppenheimer says "I am become death, destroyer of worlds" while fucking that lady? :story:

My friend told me this but he always messes with me so idk if it's true. But if so then it sounds cringe
Reading an article about how outraged a bunch of Hindus are about the movie, apparently that is the case:

To me the idea screams the writer wanted to have Oppenheimer pick up the phrase from somewhere so when he says it later it has some context but they couldn't think of a good scene.

I'm sorry but wtf :story:

Why couldn't they just remake the famous scene where Oppenheimer literally says that sentence on camera? In fact, I assumed that was a given scene you'd expect to see in the movie.

To have him say that while plowing Pugh, and then try to pass it off as a serious moment... lmao.

This makes me want to drop the movie and not watch it at all. Didn't Oppenheimer originally get the phrase from, you know, literally reading the Bhagavad Gita and later remembering it and thinking it fits the tone the writer/Shiva was going for? Why would you make it into something like that?

That's what I'm saying. There's the famous clip of him saying that phrase when discussing the bomb when they first tested it:

I always felt this was a powerful clip and expected Nolan to remake it in the movie. Why did he have to completely change it and make it so fucking cringy?

I saw in tvtropes some Amerimutt lamenting having no Japanese viewpoint in the film (how would you even do that?) and it being American centric (despite the whole fucking point is the morality of it).

Wonder how he'll react if someone suggested every Japanese "nuclear bomb bad" film would have American soldiers dying when their war captives jump on them with a grenade.

Edit: Also amazed I didn't see anyone writing the film is non linear because muh tachyons.

Última edición:
I can't think of a better example of something being "Hollywood-ified" than taking one of Oppenheimer's most profound quotes and turned it into a quote he reads between a commie girl's tits as she rides his dick. I'm not too familiar with Oppenheimer's life, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that probably didn't happen. I'm no Puritan Pete, but I gotta ask if the nudity and sex scenes (in a movie about Oppenheimer of all things) were necessary? It was tastefully done, sure, but I feel like it detracted a bit from the movie's more serious tone.
The biggest let-down to me is that the movie focuses more in the second half on this hearing to appoint Strauss to the President's cabinet. I would have preferred if we'd have gotten more scenes about Oppenheimer trying to advocate against making more nuclear arms & meeting with a wide variety of people that either respect him or hate him for what he's done. The scene of the first test detonation was extremely well-done, but I kind of fell off the movie after that.

Lol to all the faggots who thought Oppenheimer was better after the Barbenheimer memes. I was right. Dogshit biopic film made by a director who is part of the SAG-AFTRA Writers Guild Strike.

Sound of Freedom and Dead Reckoning wins yet again.

Japanese POV: Atom bomb? What's that?

*bomb whistles*

The whole Manhattan Project was the best kept government secret in America. Most Americans didn't even know what they were doing with their very specific jobs. So why would the Japanese know about it until after it was used?

Because the sassy black teenage girl physicist who did all the actual work on the bomb warned them about it, duh.

It is pretty funny how Nolan was virtue-signaling for the strike after his movie came out. By his own Hollywood standards, he is a fucking scab supporting the studios that hate his kind.

You see, the Japanese dindu nuffing and were just victims of USA Imperialism, and we must show orphans burned to death by the bomb to make sure people realize the Atom bomb is super evil

The bodies were vaporized. And I don't understand what you are implying. It sounds like you want a jingoistic propaganda film

But Oppie is not about any of that. It's a Dolan film. He only cares about loud music, retarded editing choices, and jewish pornography.

Is it like the Turing film where they sideline everyone else who worked on the subject and villanise real people for no reason and instead say it's all thanks to the tirle character and a woman?

I watched it yesterday and basically Rober Downey Jr's character is the overarching villain, because he plays Lewis Strauss. In real life Strauss played a significant role in getting Oppenheimer's security clearance revoked so it's easier to slot him into that role.

Strauss later on gets nominated to be Secretary of Commerce but his nomination gets denied, in part as revenge for fucking over Oppenheimer. A young JFK actually led to him getting denied the position because he was heavily lobbied by scientist friends of Robert's.

I thought it was funny they include the part where Truman meets with Oppenheimer and Truman calls him a whiney bitch.

More making fun of faggots that can't handle anything not to be stated outright as good/wrong and ignoring the setting which necessitated the bomb.

Though it would be pretty awesome to make a real life version of Barefoot Gen

tbh I thought the become death sex thing was bullshit online stuff like stupid Morbius memes but holy shit that's real lololol

Jesus fucking Christ that little clip was more riveting to me than anything I have heard about Floppenheimer. It'll probably stick with me a lot longer too.

Also Florence Pugh's tits are not a selling point at all. Not even a little bit.
