The Oppenheimer biopic released two days ago. I haven't watched it yet but other kiwis have, and there's no thread for it at the moment.

i havent seen it yet but sadly this is a strong mark of a Nolan movie, same exact thing happened in Tennet, a number of articles were written about itSound mixing was not great, much dialog unlistenable due to over loud music. Usually I turn off English subtitles when watching English language movies, but they would have been helpful here.
Saw it in 70mm and I was pleasantly surprised that I could clearly understand the dialouge, this being a Nolan movie and all. I wouldn't be surprised if the audio was mixed specifically for IMAX and sounds a lot muddier in lower-res audio formatsSound mixing was not great, much dialog unlistenable due to over loud music. Usually I turn off English subtitles when watching English language movies, but they would have been helpful here.
I appreciate that they very naturally introduced all the leading figures of the Manhattan Project and some of the technical dilemmas and theory without any exposition dump. But I can imagine it being confusing and kind of difficult to follow for anyone without any prior knowledge of the big names or the history and science behind the creation of the atomic bomb.
